Operator is a stroke of genius that only the Live users have put the effort into learning it in depth will appreciate. I'm just growing into it, and it is the dog's bollox when you have a sound in your head and you can quickly command Operator to deliver it, and you have full automation control of everything Operator offers. I haven't even considered what applying effects can do.

My guess is that the Abes are focusing on three things (1) Impulse, unlimited slots and auto-detect,bitslice&drop of loops to the slots with the generation of a midi track to drive it (2) beefing up the midi Live plugins (arp etc) (3) some slick new audio FX plugs.

Some right mouse button action would be hot!

Agreed, but you forgot one thing;

We need a means of grabbing groove templates from MIDI files (audio too if possible, but I understand that would be much more difficult). MIDI files should be REALLY easy to grab a groove template from. Then, we need the ability to automatically apply this groove pattern to auido and midi files, with a percentage strength from 0% - 100%.

However, I hope Ableton keeps the ability to apply the groove on a clip per clip basis - it would be bad to apply a groove template to a clip that was the source of the groove in the first place!

I've been lurking at the P5 forum for a couple of days now... Nobody could tell me about the groove quantize features in v2 yet. If it has the features Montrealbreaks describes, I'm sold.
