Mavericks crashes: anyone else?
Re: Mavericks crashes: anyone else?
I installed maverick last week and haven't had any issues yet. But I think my live might not be the most current version. Edit. Looks like I have the latest version also 9.1.1
Re: Mavericks crashes: anyone else?
none here. i've been using Live 9.1.1 and Mavericks without any hiccups.SuburbanThug wrote:Is anyone having issues with the latest update and Mavericks? Mountain Lion is no longer supported so I'm sort of being pushed aboard the Mavericks ship. Luckily I found this thread before I installed.
i've had Mavericks installed for several months...and at least two revs of Live 9 during that time frame.

Who isn’t supporting Mountain Lion? I’ve never heard of a developer no longer supporting the last previous OS and the new OS is less than a year old.SuburbanThug wrote:Is anyone having issues with the latest update and Mavericks? Thanks everybody! I went ahead with installation. Haven't had any issues yet to speak of.

No crashes.
I have NS Komplete 9 with Razor, FXpansion Tremor and some effect plugins installed in 64bit Live 9.1 Suite.

Wrong. Apple still supports Mountain Lion.
Re: Mavericks crashes: anyone else?
I'm getting a strange crash every now and then...
During playback in arrangement view (might happen at other times but only during this period for me), the sound will cut, the mouse and keyboard stop responding completely, but its still playing visually as in the play marker is still moving along, the volume meters are still bouncing up and down.
The only thing I can do is a hard power-off and boot up again.
This happens at least once during every session.
My system specs are:
MBPr, Mavericks, NI Audio 8 DJ, Live 9.1

Press alt/cmd/esc (force quit window) to get your mousepointer back.Daniel_S wrote:I'm getting a strange crash every now and then...

Then go to prefs in Ableton and change your core audio driver to none and back, and you should be good to go. Atleast, thats what works for me.

Re: Mavericks crashes: anyone else?
You can get general support from Apple for Mountain Lion, depending on conditions
But you can't bet on getting security updates for Mountain Lion any more
http://www.zdnet.com/os-x-mountain-lion ... 000022322/
http://www.apple.com/support/osx/contact/OS X Mountain Lion and earlier purchased from the Mac App Store includes complimentary support for the first 90 days of product ownership. After that time, support coverage is based on the Apple hardware product on which you are using that version. Depending on your product's coverage, you may need to pay for support. We recommend that you check your coverage before contacting us.

Thanks, but I have tried to force quit and it wont even bring that up, however I have been trying that on a USB keyboard and not the MBP keyboard which I will now try the next time it happens.PHY6 wrote:Press alt/cmd/esc (force quit window) to get your mousepointer back.Daniel_S wrote:I'm getting a strange crash every now and then...

Fingers crossed that it works.

Well OK.
But where are you getting that Apple is no longer supporting Mountain Lion? I Googled it and there's no mention of it, besides the fact that it wouldn't make much sense.
Re: Mavericks crashes: anyone else?
Oh Snaps! It be gettin reeeeaaaallll up in here....!!!
But seriously tho, most everyone is having problems with these updates. SO what do we do? Just wait for another version of ableton to come out to fix these issues? Surely there's a fix if ableton would respond and help us with our inquiries!
The inputs on my audio interface no longer work as of the latest updates... I can forget about recording guitar or bass for the time being...

No big deal. My response was a little short and snippy so a personal attack was in order per the rules of the Internet. Can't get mad at somebody for following the rules.
