My step-pop was telling me about a book about the 3rd Reich by a top notch historian or something or other, must be pretty well known if not a classic, so I'm sure some here have read it. He was saying that a lot of them liked to ummm....swordfight? Am I the only one who didn't know about this? I thought it was all speculation and anti-nazi propaganda. Though I guess the ol Hitler-eister was unaware or denied or turned a blind eye?

Not Hitler, Ernst Rhom the guy who basically founded the Brownshirts, the street thug element of the early Nazi Party was gay. He was killed in the Knight of the Long Knives by the SS. They were anti gay, but like all opportunists they used whomever they could. Again the most shocking thing about the Nazis is how normal they were, Hitler had an inappropriate relationship with a niece, but beyond that the whole thing was vanilla, and that's what makes it that much more shocking.
