^ looks like they have secretly perfected canine to human hair transplantation. Just when I ve grown fond of my baldness, a new world opens up. Not sure how i'd style a German Shepard dew though.

When I was a child I hated small dogs.
As an adult I realize my own pettiness in having such unnecessary opinions.

Some small dogs are pretty cool, most people who carry opinions about whether the size or shape of a pet is appropriate have limited cognitive skills and follow through misguided premises into logical dead ends thinking they've reached a rational conclusion.

I don't like small dogs either.

I don't see why people who carry opinions about people who carry opinions about whether the size or shape of a pet being appropriate is very different.

Also I've never met a small dog I liked because I've never really been around the stereotype of people who have them, which includes spouses of the spouse who has one.
I have however heard them bark and it makes me want to feed them too much chocolate.
I also don't want to have to worry about accidentally killing it if I don't watch my step.

I am not a small dog person (under 30 lbs), and I don't connect with many small dog owners, and I attempt to be a rather friendly and outgoing person most of the time, and always when in my professional work persona, however, Jack Russell Terriers are notably cool, smart, and cute.

We may have to establish the boundaries of what constitutes a small dog then because I don't think of a JRT as a small dog. To me a small dog fits in a purse.

At our dog park, "small dog hour" is reserved for dogs 30 lbs and under. Funny thing is, most of those guys secretly want to hang with the rest of us, we are welcoming, manage our dogs, and our dogs (mostly) are considerate of their size difference. My 95 lbs Shepard loves the lil guy's, he can taper his play to their size. Occasionally he might accidentally step on one, and it goes yelp to mommy or daddy....but if you want to play with the big boy's, you better be prepared.

I don't own and probably never will own a small dog, but I don't think there's any, zero in fact, connection between small dog owners and a type of person. It's actually that sort of logic that's so inherently wrong with this sort of thing. Think the idea all the way through and you can't possibly conclude that a type of pet is inherent to a type of personality. If you don't think it through, you come to conclusions based on anecdotal evidence and selection bias, and the world devolves a little more.

Ok well when you meet a small dog with a soothing low voice like Barry White then get it on video, ok?

If I thought insects were repulsive and found one in my house, what would your logic say about how I would respond to one?

In theory you are 100% correct! in practice, I invite you you to small dog hour at our dog park, and see if you can still maintain that view. I had it initially, and maybe it is the stereotype backlash I get having a Shepard, but it is an understood phenomenon at our dog park, that the small dog owners are not as welcoming, or as relaxed, and have more instances of conflict, than the rest. It should not be that way based on sane conventional logic, but it just seems to unfold that way.

It's a stereotype for a reason. Statistics help.

I'm sure at least 50% of toy dog owners are cool, but that doesn't mean their little friends voices are any lower pitched.

This is a great example of what I'm talking about. A dog park in CA, USA, in a specific neighborhood, in a specific culture, is indicative of a type of person universally.

One of the most friendly outgoing happy girls I know has one of the smallest, most angry dogs I've met.

It's not a contest, I do it all the time too, it's just having the knowledge that you're doing it and being able to see through it as faulty logic is a good thing; that's all I'm getting at.
