Last we spoke about this we agreed indexer was involved. How does that look now?

This for
macOS 10.12 "Sierra" as detailed in
Resolve issues caused by changing the permissions of items in your home folder
- Reset permissions of your user home folder in the Finder
- In Terminal run:
Code: Select all
diskutil resetUserPermissions / `id -u`
Prior to this in
OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" I used a more involved command that I'll can dig up if someone needs this.

Cheers, my user racks are stored on a seperate drive. Not on the system drive user.
Is this still relevant as live is not saving to the home folder.

Probably not the command, but the first Finder step could be proper to use. Have you checked "ignore permissions" on that drive? Could be sufficient.
But stuff on another drive, have been known to cause some issues. Setup is everything. I've never done this so can't advice.

Ignore ownership seems to be working.
