Just to throw it out there, there are other more worthy things to be concerned about than some joker crapping in a forum. Noone else seems to be that bothered by it, including Ableton staff.
You could take up knitting or origami for example...maybe learn how to make Rangoon's or pierogis maybe?
Well, you just managed to insult about half the regulars here. Was that your purpose or were you being more specific?

Weren't you one of the ones who "likes" this kinda thing? I consider it invalid if so.

disagree. i mean someone that has been here since 2005 can become a trouble maker nine years later. so easiest is to mod the trouble right away when it actually happens and not assume 8)
No. 99.9% of the time it's someone who just joined.

I know because you are new you think that it's picking on you, but what I meant (sorry I wasn't clear) is people who sign up and then don't post anything for a few days/weeks/etc. That is a clue. Not that they need to do anything about it, but maybe a mod approval before joining would help.
If I remember correctly the spammer used to use years old accounts, with no post count to speak of.

Like he just made a bunch of them a while back and stock piled them.
I didn't check the last one though.

Anyways, this is pointless. Some people in the lounge believe that they or their little clique are the most important sun in the galaxy. I'm sure some of the people even feel I think that way. So here it is....I'll leave the lounge to you (whoever you are) debate captain obvious stuff to the point where it's all about nothing and.......for now........stay in only relevant areas.

I'd appreciate it if you'd respect that and not bring up my name anymore as I've seen from a handful of people who only seem to be on the ableton forums for the controversial lounge.

Why would I like it? Just because I acknowledge it and don't complain about it doesn't mean I like it.

I mean really if a forum bomb is the ruin of your day then you're insulting yourself.

Shad, I think you are making a straw man.

I am not saying a forum bomb is some kind of terrible crime. But it's a hassle.

The Ableton forum is on the whole a fairly useful place; I have learned a lot of things from the people here, and I would like to look in every once in a while. But when someone spams the forum to such an extent that making use of the forum becomes impossible for a whole weekend; fills in my inbox with loads of stupid messages about Volvo, and tries to disrupt my Soundcloud account, it becomes an irritation.

It's exactly like Angstrom said, a turd on the bus seat. It's not the end of the world, but one would expect that the people who provide the space can do some basic housecleaning.

If mods were actually around on a regular basis INCLUDING WEEKENDS.
well ableton-david was the one with his finger on the trigger during the weekends ready to nuke the autobots but he left ableton earlier this year 8)
Ableton-David now works at Gobbler...

Narcissism much?
Believe me if you never post in the lounge and stick only to on topic subjects in the other parts of the forum no one will ever bring up your user names,
no one cares that much. The only people who have left the Lounge who still come up are the total controversial characters like bounce and cperrrezzz.
Makes me wonder if you aren't multing and spamming yourself. :x

This is very easily solved by Ableton appointing multiple contenders for some new form of forum administration roles. While I'm unimpressed with PHPBB it should be possible to have some kind of simpler administration roles added, from which accounts could be temporarily disabled for posting and posts simply hidden, IP address ranges blocked and so on. Swift responses would deter somewhat.
