Korg micro and Kontrol 49 users keep the faith !
Ha ha yes, misplaced myautoy wrote:C'mon, give them a break, they're just finishing v.5.0. Let's just hope this one make it to the 5.x interations. Don't sell yours just yet, there could be several hosts supporting native mode in the near future, it's quite a requested feature in all places.Nev wrote: and could you make it quick, because I keep thinking about selling my MicroKontrol...

Coming soon:
LC Xmu 2.0 for Mac OS X - Mackie Control emulation for generic controllers, includes support for Native Korg mode, ie realtime parameter displays on the KONTROL LCDs. I'm testing with Live 5 at present, it's working pretty well. See my signature for more detail.

Nice, but only for OSX. A lot of us here are PC only...

Yes, I'm aware of that, but perusing this forum indicates there is a quite high percentage of Mac users, thus my post.autoy wrote:Nice, but only for OSX. A lot of us here are PC only...
At some stage in the future there may be a Windows version, but at present I'm not at all enthusiastic, for a number of reasons, of which porting is not one. Don't hold your breath, sorry. Still - you get to use lots of great stuff that Mac users don't.

Since I am fortunate to enough to own the microkontrol, and a Tascam fw1884, I was
sort of wondering what the differences between a native host and a mackie controller would be like in Ableton's eyes.
If you lay things out the way that I would pesonally prefered, I could use the mackie control as is, for the volumes, transport, etc, but the native hosted microkontrol would be set up so that I could immediately control pre-established parameters for whatever track I had selected.
I understand this could be complicated, and yes I plan on learning max/msp one day so that I don't have to bother ask you all this stuff, but I thought I would share my ideas.
I truly feel that a variety of different control methods that were optimised to complement each other in simultaneous use would help not only me, but others in out quest to make Live a more comfortable, intuitive, efficient instrument.
Regardless, I am still hoping that this idea gets put to test, and one last thing...
BUMP!
