i have an lv1. its dope. although i need more simultanious control at the moment. More knobs to be exact. I am thinking about adding a bcr2000 to the mix for additional control. I would like to see what faderfox comesout with though. He said he is going to release a controller with a ton of knobs soon. Also, I have been looking into the Ecler Nuo4.

I use the KORG microKONTROL for LIVE 5 and Reason 3.0 and it works great in both.

Hi Tuur - if, like me, your sick of using a mouse then dig out that 01! Serious bit of kit for its time and, given that Yamaha had the foresight to MIDI implement pretty much everything, still useful as a controller even without the audio facility. It's also reasonably solid unlike a lot of the modern plasticky controllers and has full motorised recall.

Still getting mine fully programmed & set up - but if it's any help once I'm done I can mail you a desk SYSEX dump and v5 .als template.

I've got a promix01 as well, I'd be really grateful if you could mail me the sysex and the als too, I though the mixer only sent fader movements

I did the same thing with my dusty 01V. Live MIDI controller implementation worked so well that I sold my Ozonic and stuck an mLAN card in the 01V. Unfortunately, the older 01Vs don't support MIDI over mLAN, so I still need to use a MIDI interface. (savings pennies for 01V/96...)

All faders and solo/channel on buttons send and receive MIDI. The pan knob transmits MIDI, but the EQ freq and gain don't.

Controller, soundcard, and mixer in one solid box! (Or eggs all in one basket, possibly...)

Hi Lerky....been away for a bit mate and hadn't seen your post....gimme a day or two (gotta finish something) and I'll mail the SYSEX and .als for 5.02 to your addy.

BTW - the 'track on' buttons do work, and the 'group' selects can be used for solos. I remember it being a bit of a phooter to set up but they do work.

I've sussed out how to get playback automation with the promix, set up the track on buttons to send midi and begun to set up a template set with all the midi cc.
I think if I had something with rotary knobs to control the eqs this could be really good. the mixer does send midi from the eqs but the jog wheel on the mixer is a bit sticky and you can only change one parameter at a time.

I just bought a promix and have been trying to do what you have already done lerky. Would you mind passing those files along?

i think for my live us a lemur for effects and a xone 3d for everything else would be ideal - but thats about 6 grand too wheeeeeeeeee

I am pretty enthused about my Behringer BCR2000!!

I have been using it for over a year now, and I have memorised all my main templates (mappings), so much so that I can now play with my eyes closed, much like I would play a musical instrument.

The top 8 endless knobs/buttons can be multiplied by 4 using the "encoder group" buttons, so I control all 8 tracks' volume, mute/unmute, pan, cue, send A, plus master volume, tempo, clip transpose, scene launch and a few things more with just 8 controllers!! A bit tricky to memorise but once you get it it is immensly powerful! I keep all the rest of the controllers (16 buttons and 24 knobs) for mapping effects and general weirdness...

I am thinking about getting a TriggerFinger to shoot my samples and play my breaks, and thus ditch forever my old and tired piano MIDI controller. Or use it for putting the coffee mug on.

I have also used more controllers, we have a nice little home studio full of goodies, and I have seen or fondled most of M-Audio controllers, which feel really cheap and limited compared to the BCR2000. This is not to say I don't like M-Audio products, I have a Firewire Audiophile and its a nice piece of hardware. The O-zone was really revolutionary when it came out, but it looks less so today.

Yep, the New 3D seams the perfect tool... im just not sure about the USB integration.

Ned to try it first.
