Hi everyone,
what you experience is not one single issue but a combination of a few things.
One part of the problem is in since the beginning of Live and is going to be
improved in future versions. This causes the slowlyness in arranger once you have
lots of edits and it has to do with the way we handle the arranger data internally.

There is a good chance that we can improve this significantly, but as long as we
have not done it we will not promise anything. Because we do not want to raise
expectations we maybe could not fullfill for reasons we do not know now.
But this does not mean we do not know or even experience the slowlyness
ourselfs.

The second issue is a new bug and causes significant slowlyness even if you only
have one single file in the arranger with some edits. We think we can reproduce
this and we are confident that it will be fixed soon.

Improving the operaton speed and general GUI response has a high priority
on our current schedule.

it's good that you are familiar with the problem (s), because this means you can plan well for the future. That should mean the new system of handling arrange data will be robust, quick and possibly enable other benefits which were being held back by the old code. :)

exposing multiple envelopes perhaps ;)

As a fan of Ableton Live, i think its a bit dubious of them to say this. The copy/paste works really quick when you first open up Live. Even on the heavy projects which cause these problems. After a couple of operations, or simply Live being open for a period of time, the lag comes back.

Please ableton, use your eternal wisdom and relieve us.

Here's a bump for this one since we are in another beta test. I understand this issue might be a bit tougher to fix but with the latest beta it's still a big issue.

When cutting, dragging and duplicating a large number of clips in arrange view it is still incredibly slow. As I speak I'm still waiting for a group of about 100 clips to finish being duplicated in arrange view.

As said before, this does not depend on CPU usage, effects or anything.. for me it just seems to depend on the number of clips that exist in arrangement view....

Nice to see the GUI in session view has been sped up with the new beta, but we need it sped up in arrange view as well!

Yes, I have tried out the beta's as well and thought for a moment that things was actually running a bit better. But no, after 15-20 mins of using live it starts locking up, crackeling etc. I simply can't work with it and I even made a totally clean install.

Well, the above problem might be related to other "things" than Live. Could be drivers, services and lots of other stuff. But still it seems very strange that Live will run smooth and top-nice when I first start it up and then gradually become worse and worse. Hmmmm!

In regards to editing in arrangement view it has not become any better in my case. Still waiting 10+ sec. when doing drag/drop/copy. It's just funny that when doing this my system is doing absolutely nothing. It's NOT working like crazy on the harddrive or anything. It just sits there thinking about the meaning of its life as an audio sequenser and then suddenly it decides to copy or move the stuff I ordered it to do a long time ago. In the meantime I've lost my desire to do anything creative.

An absolute top priority problem, which should not be postponed for a later update. It needs to be fixed asap! This can not be said enough times!
