YES - A way of linking 1 controller to various parameters in LIVE at the same time.. Like a mod matrix of a synth.

Also, What do people think about a way to apply offline effects to clips? Perhaps have a way of monitoring the single clip, apply the effects in time and then distructivly render them into the file. You could do this while having playback not stop by having the audio out routed to your headphones. I work with individual tracks in seperate files and then copy and paste the clips into one master LIVE file.. but i spend ages re-sampling for compression, eq, etc.. it's a pain. Thoughts?

Huh? For the four people in the world who use it in "analog" mode?

IMO: If you don't bother warping complete tracks there's really no point in using Live for DJing. There are a lot of other programs out there that will give you this capability already for much less than what Live costs.

A lot of DJs use Live AND turntables, so this feature would be a great help.

Id like to see some sort of nudge thing too. Also to be able to see more than one waveform at a time, preferable colourcoded in the same window, VDJ stylee.

COLOUR CODE ME UP BABY.

CELEBRATE THE BUS BABY

If you still need to know, the explanation of 'the bus'-- there is a bus that is sponsored by something to do with John Lennon (foundation?) that includes a complete mobile production studio. It's been touring the country, visiting college campuses, etc, and people can drop in an check out a real live recording studio and even play with stuff.

http://www.jlsc.com/bus/

imo the bus is worthy of celebration, particularly if it was sitting in my driveway :).

fwiw, the interpretation of "announcement at NAMM" ... does this mean they will announce that it is in fact available for purchase, or could it mean that they will announce the date when it will in fact be available for purchase?

Ableton will be appearing at Summer NAMM 2006, July 14-16, in Austin,
Texas. We will be in booth 614 with our friends from M-Audio.

On Friday, July 14, at 10:30AM, Ableton will hold a special press
conference
. Please come by and see what's in store for the future of
Live!

Sounds like they will actually do the anounce then. I was doubtful.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with how it works - they will not be releasing boxes of L6 into the wild on that day - they will anounce Live 6 and the main features.

Then a beta will most likely start, a closed beta has been the norm , followed by a public beta .... But I wonder if they have been doing things differnt this time.

I didn't go into the closed beta last time because I couldn't commit the necesary time to check it properly - imagine my annoyance when it seemed like a lot of the select few'closed beta' testers didn't actually have the background to test crucial issues. Many issues did come to light from the more experienced beta testers of course, which tells me that Ableton ought to hand pick beta testers from a known group of hardened users.

No, I don't mean me - I'm still too busy to test properly and follow issues in depth ... although I'm happy to play around!

perhaps Ableton have addressed this better this time , as L5 came out with lots of issues unresolved by this less than succesful beta . I wonder if a few people on this forum have been sat quietly on a copy of L6 for the last month or so ?

hmmm?
