when writing automation if you click and then hold cmd you can free draw then release apple and you go back to grid draw.

How about the "loop to next locator" in arrange? I think that is pretty sexy. It makes working on sections in arrange a lot easier.

I also agree that the alt-draw tool for midi velocity is pretty awesome and I would have missed it completely.

No one mentioned the Duplicate feature on the arrange view

they are very useful when combined with racks because you can take things out of the chain to a new channel in the same way you can access an Impulse drum with Live 5. Although of course it is much more powerful.

It makes for a very interesting and flexible routing system, just that small addition!

I can't find these routing options.

In the section for each track that says "Audio From" , choose a track to get audio from , EG: make Track 2 get its "Audio From" track 1. Notice the box beneath, you can choose where in the chain you "get your audio from" Pre FX, Post FX, Post Mixer.


Now try dragging a rack into a session to make a new track, a midi rack you have made would be best - something with a few instruments in it.

In your Track 2 (which you were fiddling with before), choose this new midi-rack track as where you want to get your "Audio From". Now take a look at the bazillion options in the box beneath.

discovered 2 nice things:
first: in 5.2 when dragging a clip from session to arrangement, you needed to move slightly the clip before pressing the Tab key. 6 is back to normal: click on the clip, hit Tab, you're in arrangement with the clip attached to your mouse.

now another one: select a zone in sampler's zone editor, play a note on your keyboard, double click the brown bar => your zone gets reduced to the note you where playing
and this also works on the "key" chain editor in a rack....

Wow, just realised that the skin "laser" which used to be entirely monochromatic now has coloured clips. Beautiful!!!!!
