It will be really stupid if Live 7 don't get wacom support =\ because that's mean no progress in a new way to play live sets and making music.

WACOM SUPPORT PLEASE!

to all Wacom users..

little tip for those who don't know about this;

but holding the Apple command key (don't exactly know the PC key for that)
while dragging a dial or slider gives you finer drag resolution and much better and precise results with your Wacom..

cheers..

it's a Ctrl key on PC. however sliders maybe move smoother, but still buggy and don't follow the pen directly. it's not a solution.

I didn't say it is a solution..
but at least you have a bit more precise control..

Just bought a wacom tablet...I'd really like to be able to use it with Ableton.

Ra Ra Ra! Let's get this thread fired up again. Here's another vote!

We'll be lucky if we see it by version 10. Just doesn't seem to be very high on their agenda, or even on the agenda at all.

I thought any application that works with a mouse should work with the tablet. So technically they don't need to "support" it because it's already supported. But I guess there's something different about the Ableton program that the precision is no good with the tablet?

(I didn't re-read the whole thread again, but I suppose this was discussed already?)

the main problem is that if you turn a dial, the dial starts to 'run', without moving the pen..

so for instance;
if I try to adjust a parameter from say 0 to 12, it runs to 127 in no time..
you have absolutely no control over parameters at all..

this problem needs high priority attention..

Yes I agree. I only use Live. So when you use the pen to turn a dial with other music production applications, like Logic, Reason, etc...they behave fine?

with ALL other applications or OS related parameters..

Live is absolutely the one and only app I know that does not handle this right..

and it's a strange mixture, because a few parameters act just fine..
Operator's ADSR for instance..

No Cinema 4D behaves this exact way when adjusting sliders of various parameters. The difference is that Cinema 4D has an option in preferences to use a tablet, when you turn this preference on the application behaves perfectly fine.

That's the only application I can think of that behaves differently with tablets. I'm sure there are a few others.

The frustrating thing is that nobody from Ableton will shed any light on this at all. And most likely it is going to be another year and another upgrade for this simple thing.

100% you have my vote for WACOM Support !

I won't purchase Live until it has this. ALL of my software is used w/ my wacom intuos 4x6. Lets get this thread going again.

I just joined this forum b/c i've been looking into a few sequencers, and just assumed wacom support was universal - besides, how hard can it be. It's probably 2 lines of code.

And not supporting a tablet today is like not supporting a mouse years ago.
