I think the educational discount is $99 or something close to that
it's a thought but really I can't afford it right now
maybe WINTER quarter
Is it worth the $200 or discount bundled?
maybe, maybe not -
I don't know how to use a sampler like a true sampler should be used
however, with the samplers I've used like KONTAKT, I really liked being able to importing my rex files, filters different groups / layers and the built in effects - which SAMPLER can't do any of - so for me...it's not that worth it, not even at $99
Battery 3 upgrade @ $119 is more up my alley as far as the music I do
So, it just depends on what you want and how you work - for some it's essential, for others it's just another VST they buy for the sake of buying (which is cool to, I think)
peace

Sampler? Hmm...I'll pass
I played with sampler in the beta, and sorry to say it didn't do much for me. Live 6 rocks, bought the upgrade immediately, but gonna pass on the sampler instrument. I have a nice Akai 3200XL sampler that does the same thing, and then some.
Call me old-fashioned. I'm still warming up to software instruments. The sampler is the holy of holies in Industrial music, not willing to give that one up so easily.
