It can work out where you are though, based on the phone network masts and wifi networks you're connected to. I was sceptical at first and then freaked out when it got my position to within about 50 metres. I got mine when they dropped the price in the UK, so it was only £170. I'd needed a new phone for a long time and had been waiting for them to come down a bit in price. I know the new version is coming soon but I'm not that bothered by the features it will have - I don't need gps and I don't browse enough for the lack of 3g to be an issue.
