What's this??? Aggressive Apple marketing and price point? Giving customers more of what they want at a price they can afford?

Next thing you know you'll won't have to sell a kidney to afford a Mac Pro.

Looks good though. I've been looking at ProTools for a while as Logic was always a bit expensive and the dongle thing really pissed me off but now.....

Hmmmm

To the Apple Store for a demo!

Exactly! Moaning students!!!!
LOFA wrote:No academic upgrade from Logic Pro 7 to 8. Considering the features, $500 does seem like an upgrade price though.
If mainstage makes use with Live smoother, maybe I will give in.
I am pissed about not getting a discount though.
I wouldn't say I'm moaning, I'm no longer a student and justifiably pissed off that the $500 I spent makes no impact on this pricing. No fingers pointed. Just voicing my opinion in case it gets around, makes a difference or informs other potential buyers of their policy.

£129 upgrade.
I meant to buy the Pro 8.
I might seriously consider it if it weighs in at under 300 rather than upgrade live 8O ... still on 5.2 whihc does me fine for DJing, always tempted by logic except for the 700 price tag.
All the UK prices are in the news section of the Apple UK site.

I think the price is awesome and looks pretty good to me. I am not going to dump Live for it. I wonder if it will run under OSx86 :D

Hello everyone,

Two words:

Logic still doesnt have anything like it... what a yawn. There's no reason to switch or even use it along side... jeez.... move on people... keep making music with Live! Your already ahead of the game!
