Joss Stone is a soulless fool. I have always hated her style. The lyrics that are written for her should only be sung by a woman who is around 30 and has some experience in life. Not by a middle class 19 year old who has never experienced anything remotely soul/heart breaking.

You still sound very bitter towards Mark Ronson. If it is so easy why didn't you do it? Oh that's right because SAW did it in the late 80's.

I'm not a huge fan of Ronson's Versions album and I actually listened to Ronson host the Radio One show back in January and he came over very arogant and a bit of a tosser. BUT you can not argue with the quality of the Back to Black album. I love the way that it reminds me of the early Staxx stuff. It is a quality album and will be regarded as a stone cold classic. I have a huge soul/rare groove music collection. The Amy Winehouse album stands up to a lot of it.

Her tone and phrasing are brilliant. She can wail. She has the most interesting singing voice of any UK artist in the last 12 years. IMO.

back to black was pretty dope when i first heard it, but it's been on the shelf for a while, oh well. ronson does his thing, but like someone else said, after hearing him on radio 1 i'm not rushing out to get his record. i still would rather hear his stuff on the radio than most of what's on there. i'd still crank his cover of just if it came on.

likewise, yesterday morning i was listening to that daft punk 'discovered' cd that has all the songs they sampled. daft punk hardly did anything to the song and then kanye sampled that. i was skeptical about the performance, but still, when i'm at home on a sunday night watching cbs and daft punk appears in their pyramid with the lightup suits and 4 lemurs i'm loving it.

would it have been better if kanye's special guests was autechre?

I enjoyed it for what it was - throwaway television entertainment.

Agreed - he's a very safe rapper. No disrespect but he's in that Maroon 5 category. Real safe music white college kids put on at house parties when they want to 'crank it up a notch'

he's loaded and extremely popular (some of his beats are pretty good), I'm not taking that from him. But even in the black community he's considered a 'tool' as far as being an MC and entertainer is concerned.

If you want real without being too real Common is pretty much gold. He's real, can rap and has all the street cred you need from 'yo peoples'

Amy Winehouse - can't say I'm following her career. She can sing, that's easy. If she really has a problem with drugs I hope she gets help (if she really wants help). That's that.
