I had the same problem when i loaded live 6 for the first time on my new laptop AMD64 bit, dual core, using Vista ultimate 64 bit. it took nearly an hour for it to load! i stopped the installation twice thinking something must be wrong? however, the last time i completely uninstalled it, restarted the computer, then let it go through the hour long load process. it finished, and then finally it worked! i suggest you try the same thing, only be sure that no extra versions of live are lurking somewhere on your computer when you try this. i currently use live 7.0.2 on a brand new Quad core desktop, with vista ultimate 64 bit, and it is Killer!
