i have a question: how easy is it to use in a live situation where it requires more or hard long tweaks rather then finetuned?
i was damn stoked on my uc16 cause it had 16 knobs and 4 fast switch presets and that it was way easy to reprogram, but eventualy i removed just about half the knobs because they were in the way, made it way hard to tweak stuff.
that is, no long subtle filter sweeps, but more hard tweaks going from 0 to 127 and back again in some 1 second or so. im thinking about the touch knobs and all that, cause ive been thinking about getting one but if i accidently touch a knob due to the fact that it isnt spaced out enough on the controller it could potentionally ruin things for me, like the uc16 did. so yeah, can you use it as an instrument (if you know what i mean), rather then some finetuning device, like most controllers seems to be made into (another reason why diy style is the best i guess).

you can program the step size for the knobs (and buttons too) so you can have either very fine or coarse (e.g. on/off) adjustment.friend_kami wrote:i have a question: how easy is it to use in a live situation where it requires more or hard long tweaks rather then finetuned?
there's a bit on the vids about that...

aight, so how you think the layout is then? i mean in general.sans soleil wrote:you can program the step size for the knobs (and buttons too) so you can have either very fine or coarse (e.g. on/off) adjustment.friend_kami wrote:i have a question: how easy is it to use in a live situation where it requires more or hard long tweaks rather then finetuned?

i mean, are the knobs too close to each other, are the buttons placed out in a smart convenient way to work with in a live situation for example..

eh what ?!?objectman wrote:viral marketing - it's all the rage. give someone $50 to post to a forum. i would if i had a product.
are you talkin' to me ?
(repeat with different faces)
i know all about viral marketing...no: i actually use the thing and like it. i was waiting for something versatile and compact, especially for use with plogue bidule (which i basically have set up as a large modular software synth/loop processor), and this is just the ticket.
i'm not sure if i'm responding to comments that weren't directed at me, but re. landser's comment...the thing was useful straight out of the box, but there are aspects that i needed to figure out, as with pretty much every new piece of gear.
i was joking (i think). no - i too have been ogling that particular product - but - in my case - i really should spend more time making music. these toys are just so awesome. i've nearly bought every synth out. i love absynth and albino (i guess the noccy will do those too, right?). buying this little baby would be a sign of craziness - as i've just parted with about $5K on ableton and a whole swag of soft synths and i can't even play mary had a little lamb (you can hear how average i am at the link below). but it's all a great big load of fun . . . innit lads?

i 'm @ work, so don't have the thing in front of me, but...djsynchro wrote: The nocturn not following the plug-in UI is weird, it's doing in the demo video, I just emailed support about it. Thanks for reminding me.
there's a thing in the automap toolbar...'follow active UI' or something that needs to be checked.
the little 'A' on the bottom left og the automap-wrapped plug-in also needs to be clicked/on (e.g. red as opposed to white).
I have the 'Automap focus follows active UI" thing ticked.
And when I click the A so it's red it switches.
Also when I open a plug by clicking on the Live "wrench" icon.
But it's supposed to switch even if you click on the VST window.
And in the demo vdeo the guy clicks on a Live track title (with preferences set to "auto hide plug-in" and that way it's supooed to switch too.
If you can check that would be great.
