A) Someone starts talking about Hawtin
B) Someone gets all arrogant and rants about why Hawtin and minimal techno sucks
C) Same arrogant person, or someone equally as arrogant, mentions Aphex Twin as one of their faves
D) Someone mentions how minimal is no longer minimal
E) Someone mentions that Hawtin is no longer the Hawtin they used to know
So true...

I'm not a big fan either, but
only have miami? ; guess you haven't really experienced the states then.
Miami - (extrememly commercial music conference) WMC
but you forgot Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta, DC, and of course NY.
I havent,
but on the other hand theres not too much coming out of those cities on a global scale these days. Sure back then NY Wild Pitch house was big, same with Chicago house (im too young for this one) and Detroit changed a lot of things for every technolover.
But not anymore, theres still coming quality stuff out of the US but why did they all moved to Berlin?
a) its way cheaper
b) its way posher
c) you get a shitload of gigs once your *in*

i wish i hadn't given up my dual citizenship.

Now, recently married, (two Saturdays ago) and with a new 8 yr old step son, i doubt i get over there any time soon; and yes, i am jealous of the flourishing scene in Germany, I pray it grows internationally. I hope to return to Heidelberg (where i was born) some day. I hear of my friends moving over seas and them playing out regularly(esp germany), and making way more $$$ than over here playing music.
thanks god for this board, it really helps keep me connected in a musically stagnant town.

Giving up dual citizenship is
But relax, the Euro is getting weaker, appartements in Berlin getting expensive,
and to actually getting booked for the good paid gigs isnt a piece of cake.

I dunno if this was answered and I am NOT scrolling through five pages of BS.
DJ's on traktors as you would, Drops in loops and much better fx through ableton...
A trak does the same, only better and with a big midi foot pedal while he does his scratch routines...
That man is a true genius also for thos interested, here's how...

I cant be bothered trawling through all 5 pages of this but im pretty sure hes using one dedicated to the lights. When we saw him at Sonar this year the lights were synchronized to his set (they were awesome I might add)and I was pretty sure thats whats its for. I doubt Ni would be amused if he was using Ableton too after all the gay advertising hes done lately.
Or
He has a camera zoomed in on himself so he can watch on his laptop......
