Just got an iPhone and installed Beatmaker. Seriously this thing is sick! I can easily see people using it as their only sequencer. Step sequencing on it is really fun, way more so than with a mouse.

Yeah, way cool is it not. Dunno, I almost find it more enjoyable than Live, lol. There's a simplicity about it that's cool.
How's the latency on the 3G? There's definitely delay with me on my 1st Gen iPhone. I've seen others complain that after the 2.0 update, latency was common on all apps.

Not bad with Beat maker, but bluetooth latency seemed bad with VNC. Still fun to sit there and trigger scenes in Live with the iPhone. Nerd cool was definitely defined to me by this picture.

Coolness.
MIDI integration is now Priority #1. I mean, it's cool bangout out riffs while I'm taking a shit and all, but c'mon....

New in app store IR-909. As the name suggest it is a very nice representation of Roland 909 Drum machine, but also includes sounds of 808, 606 and 707.
Very simple to use and it sounds fantastic.

BTW; IR-909 costs less than the price of magazine - $4.99

No MIDI.

No save.
Until there's full MIDI support I'm not buying another fucking iPhone music app.

I'm hoping someone will do an iPhone version of that screen thing where you put discs on it and the sounds bounce around all over the place. Can't remember what it was called but there was a link to a video a while back and it looked awesome.

Oh man i can't wait for ITM stuff.. did you manage to port a version for 10.4 macs ?

by nonnus
still 10.5 only
as reported last week i could not work on the 10.4 port yet
landrvr1: sorry for not giving more news,
but you will be one the first ones to know when the 10.4 is out
this week i really need to work on the server part so i hope to nail the 10.4 issue
it is probably the most requested feature !
from non users, at least...
btw,
i have just set up a new site at itouchmidi.com,
trying to get it more complete and with user forums,
all interested ppl go ahead and register !
unfortunatelly i could not yet put updated pics on the site or illustrated how to´s as intended,
if only i figured it out how to put images on a drupal 6 site....
it should not be too difficult after some little cocoa coding...

I don't think anything explains that price - other than the developer thinking he can rip the piss out of people as they've got enough money for Pro tools. I reckon about £10 tops would be reasonable, so I can't see them selling many.
Won't be long before there is lots of apps like this, all at reasonable prices or free.

Bah, we seriously need just one good Live app. I'm hopeful that we'll be seeing one soon. Just a simple controller with wifi MIDI will do nicely. Sounds like the iTouchMidi guy is giving up, so who'll step up next? Maybe the guys that came up with that previous app that worked with akaRemote and a jailbreak iPhone?
