Very cool. I'm a big Isham fan, but I gotta say that some of his forays into trad/bebop jazz have been positively horrid. His 'Miles Remembered' album is easily in my Top 10 Worst Piece of Shit records that I've ever bought. On the other hand, his jazz score for Afterglow is fucking fantastic. Hit or miss.
Seeing him accompanying David Sylvian was one of the best musical moments of my life.

I hadn't heard Cliff Martinez and I'm impressed.
I have a question, I bought Solaris from iTunes and some of it sounds distorted (as in not in a good way) i.e. in 'First Sleep' was it encoded badly and should I complain or is that the way it was intended to be? I've turned off my EQ and turned down the volume which has improved it a little but It's not great.
I listened to First Sleep again last night and could not hear any distortion whatsoever. Maybe you should complain. At what time does the distortion occur? Then I'll check again.
Theres a Great Unkle mix of that First sleep track on the edit music for a film CD...

Ambient Film Scores.
Lets see. What will anyone with half a brain or an IQ over 90 need for this project. An 808, a few vsti's, Crazy ivan and a lobotomy. Olympic opening sound track for 2012 for sure.

Aguirre is the film that catapulted Herzog & Klaus Kinski onto the world stage. It is a masterpiece. And has one of Popol Vuh's best soundtracks. Beautiful & sad.
Here are some other Herzog films I love:
Fata Morgana
Signs of Life
Land of Silence and Darkness
Herdsmen of The Sun
Lessons of Darkness
I must confess that I have not seen many of his recent films. Hopefully I will correct this soon...

Oh I have my friend, I have! I do need to see it again though, since it has been many years since I saw it. Plus I have developed a great love of opera since I first saw it so long ago.
Have you seen 'Cobra Verde'? It's really good too. Kinski, in all his glory.
