a little detective work later. . .
This Saturday, 23 August. Ironworks, Inverness, Scotland.
Given how far off the beaten track this clubnight is (no offence), I'm even more disgusted at the attitude. Joel Zimmerman, you're a cock.
PS, Max, you should definitely wear a mask too

don't do anything dumb and compromise your career (not that you would anyways).
but at the same time, don't compromise your artistic integrity.
if I was in you situation, I would back out of the gig. i'd rather play to a small crowd enjoying myself, than trying to force my way through a set to a big crowd.
I doubt many people will see it as "bitching out".
I would take it as a show of artistic freedom.
unless fame and money is your main motivation, in which case, disregard this post.

wow. that is ri-goddamn-diculous.
i would've never imagined. I have some of his tracks and have played them out many times. It's not tarnse, he makes (and apologies in advance) what's called "fidget house". Though in his live sets (i saw him in NYC a couple weeks ago) he throws in a few old school tarnse tracks.
A friend of mine had met him and supposedly he was a really nice guy. So weird. What a fucking diva, if these restrictions were indeed his idea.

Sh*t, sometimes I play with the
Dead Koala nick...I wouldn't want him to tell me : No one who is called "Deadsomething" can play before me...I'd rather kill the rat.

fantastic i thought and started preparing my set for the big night...until tonight when the manager of the club informs me that deadmau5's agent won't allow any other ableton set-up on the night, only cdj's.
i ask him why a warm-up set sever hours before the main act will cause a problem and inform him the set-up will be tidied away before deadmau5 appears. but he won't budge, stating deadmau5 dosen't want anyone else using ableton when he performs!
have you guys ever heard such bs before? now i'm forced to use cdj's or i can't play
Deadmau5 has probably thought fuck what if he's a better Dj than me

and did'nt want to look like a daft cunt when everyone moves to your tunes and not his

He sounds an utter NUMPTY and the ABS should revoke his rights to use Live..I mean who the fuck does he think he is...Like i said before he forgets where he came from.."NOTHING"...and what's that stupid fucking big Mouse mask he wears at his venues?
I'd like to know what the Abletons take is on all of this Deadmau5 caper....
To Maximum01 i would say FUCK EM mate your obviously a better bloke than him and dj
Goodluck in your future gigs from us all

wow....looks like ive started something here. i totally appreciate everyone's support but it wasn't my intention to start a mud slinging fest.
guys, let me post back when my m8 gets a response from the agent today, asking them to compromise. if they are insistent i can't use ableton i think i will gracefully bow out of the gig, not because i cant use cdj's but because the whole thing smells.
if on the other hand they compromise and allow me to use my rig i will inform this thread so the deadmau5 abuse dosent escalate further
again, i don;t want a fuss kicked up over the nite as the local guys that run it are sound blokes and invited me knowing nothing about the demands of deadmau5's agent. they just want a positive hitch free nite.
thanks all.

There'll be all of 3 people who've heard of DeidMoosie in the first place.

Deadmau5 Technical Rider
" 17” Mac Book Pro
Apogee Ensemble soundcard
Monome 256
Lemur Controller
Mouse mat and pad
Pioneer DJM 800 (must be separate to the DJ set up)
Pioneer EFX-1000

I wonder does he allow people to use monomes and lemurs before his set also ?
If you can find a mousehead, a monome and a lemur, bring them along too
bet he's pressing play in arrangement
