nice!, yep i love this location and it's a true players place, there are never more then max. 3 DJs per night usually 2 or like tomorrow only one all night long...

dear ableton, i am aware of the fact that due to the new forum structure this thread most probably should be moved over to 'local'

loads of people are used to it finding it here, and as it should be in your own interest to keep the exposure of the ALUGB
as high as possible... i ask you to be so kind and to remain it here...

p.s. details fo the 'summer special' meeting 2010 are coming up next week... work in progress

anyone who reads this already and like to perform at the next ALUGB meeting, please be so kind and send me a short e-mail with full name (and artist name) roughly the set length (max. 20-30 minutes) and the type of music, and remember anything goes, from experimental / chill / etc. over thumpy thumpy techno... i just need to roughly know the 'energy' level... if chilled or dance... thanks!

If you're in or around Berlin on Wednesday, June 2nd, don't miss the next meeting of the Ableton Live User Group Berlin. It's at the Suicide Circus, in Friedrichshain, and it's a special summer event, with a barbecue, drinks and an open stage with some fine homegrown music. Ableton's Nico Starke will also be taking a look at controller hardware in a special presentation.

Dear Ableton Live users,

I'd like to invite you to our annual summer special.

We will supply a big barbecue, so you can bring your own meat (or veggieburgers), chuck it onto the grill and enjoy the evening with other Live users--chat, exchange ideas and get to know each other.

As usual, the stage is open. If you want to play, just get in touch. Let me know roughly what sort of music you make (all styles are welcome; it's not a typical party, anything from chilled experimental over heavy techno goes!) You can reach me at: catrax[at]gmail[dot]com

i am happy to announce that it is already getting busy with the lineup...

and the official invitation e-mail is not even out, i am also very exited that we have already 2 confirmed guests coming specifically for the ALUGB, one from as far away as belgium! wow!

so hurry up to reserve a slot, in the worst case we can have two! stages going, so prep up your sets, send me a mail and contribute.

We saw that Ableton events are being hosted in Berlin so we were wondering if you could recommend places to go clubbing there?

We are going to be staying in Kreuzberg from 3-7 June. We are into electronic music, particularly techno, electronica and electro - mostly anything so long as it isn't commercial house, and have heard about Berghain and that it has a strict door policy and Maria am Bahnhof. Is there anywhere especially good that is cheap and fun?

there are tons of techno / minimal clubs... in friedrichshain and kreuzberg. one as good or bad as the other... it always dpends what nights / DJs are on...

to name but a few...

berghain / panorama bar
watergate,
maria am hauptbahnhof
dice club
suicide circus
horst club kreuzberg



and a few cheap and very rotten places:

morlox,
rosis,
raw temple
cassiopaia (more broken beats, etc.)

and many, many, many more...


best tip, come here go into bars get drunk / do drugs on the loo with a local and get a good tip for the hour, seriously!
