Honestly, after testing both yesterday, I feel touchAble velocity zone system more useful and accurate. Cause you can set up the velocity in touchAble.ze2be wrote:@rabuille: Oh my.
With GBs new velocity sencitice technology for iPads, there might be hope for real preasure sensitive iPads in the future. The hardware technology is already there. Just a matter of geting production cost down to consumer level. Hmm

Rabouille, although you are the master I disagree... I think the accelerometer works pretty well - I can control the velocity with it. I guess it depends on what you want. For example I like playing and writing with the garageband drums more than the Touchable pads, because I can FEEL them. It may not be as accurate as a dedicated drum pad but it's pretty close and I can tidy it up afterwards or set a midi compressor to keep it sane. I for one would sincerely dig acceleromerareated pads/keys in Touchable.

I agree. I think that Velocity sensitivity is more useful in Garageband than with zones, it's more natural.sach160 wrote:rabouille wrote:Honestly, after testing both yesterday, I feel touchAble velocity zone system more useful and accurate. Always good to know what users think. We'll see how we can improve that module,sach160 wrote:

Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
I loaded a softsynth onto a midi track, then put it in inside a rack - i hit configure on the softsynth and moved all the parameters i wanted to map and saved the rack as a preset - however touchable only displayed the 8 macro controls and not the "configurable" parameters inside the rack - is this normal behaviour, anything touchable can do in the future so you could save this preset for ease of synth tweaking or is it down to the Live code?
Thanks!
Thanks!

normal behaviour.
If you want to have access to all the parameters configured with your vsti, don't put it inside a rack.
Just save it inside the rack to be able to recall the configured parameters as a preset. Next time, you want to use it, load this rack into your track, and put the vsti out of the rack, so like this you 'll be able to get all the parameters.

touchable 1.2.1 (minor) update is out
Changelog:
- XY Pad Reverse now works as advertised
- Fixed crash when adding MIDI or Audio Tracks
- It is now possible to exchange XY Pad recordings via iTunes
No need to install a new server package if you own the latest one.

Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
Just another query - im getting some weird behaviour since using touchable - when i open an empty set in Live i sometimes get a high frequency pop/glitch, also when opening some sets i get a burst of white noise - this is without touchable connected or touchable server running
So is it down to Midi Yoke? anyone else experiencing similar problems?

While researching Kapture Pad, I read a few people saying that Touchable now does the same thing in terms of allowing you to revert your whole set to a saved state. True?

not exactly...this works with the parameters selected within the xy pad...using the snapshots....Tarekith wrote:While researching Kapture Pad, I read a few people saying that Touchable now does the same thing in terms of allowing you to revert your whole set to a saved state. True?

btw, you can use kapture with clips instead of the kapture app (each clip can launch a capture of the whole liveset, and launch each of them from touchAble grid. Works with/and kapture app, kapture maxforlive.Tarekith wrote:Thanks for the clarification!
