I really like the tagging style. And it doesn't take so long in the end. Direct browsing can be done with the software, so that's also covered.

classic
i know you fanboys won't hear a bad word said against it, but none of you can offer any advice as to what i'm doing wrong, just smarmy comments.

my sample library is already organised the way i want it, maschine forces me to do it all again the way it wants it.
umm my library spans teras, being organized doesn't make tagging harder it makes it easier, if you feel differently I won't argue with you, but for calling me a maschine fanboy I will

Maschine's tagging system is awesome! I love having all my favorite sounds a button push and a knob turn away, all organized exactly how I want!

thats what I'm sayin it's like the very definition of tag in this context is make it how you want it
but he said maschine is forcing something on him,

anyway if the tagging system isn't working correctly or you want something added to it definitely go to maschines forum and put in a user request because ni are good about knocking out the easy ones

copying anything in maschine is so easy it will give you the giggles, and yes from the hardware.

never tried from a 'live' controller but any controller thats got a midi out on it then yes.

for stuff other than grooves yes. basicly its a sampler and you can do anything to samples, modulate them, effect them, stepsequence them, stepsequence the fx on them, chop them up in little pieces, pitch them, .........(not straight forward time stretch) (but theres even ways to time stretch them)

you can def use it like a synth if you like to do that kind of thing with samplers

Yes, it's a matter of holding "duplicate", pressing the group you want to copy, and then pressing the (empty) group you want to copy to.
ShelLuser wrote:- Is a "Maschine sound" also playable using another Live controller ?
Yes, I use to Live to apply MIDI effects to my keyboard, then send it to the Maschine software. No problem.

ShelLuser wrote:- Looking at Maschine "beyond grooving", how realistic is that ?
Totally realistic if you are not into complex classic arrangements.
I actually prefer using the Maschine to program basslines, as I really like the response of the pads.
Playing chords as actual MIDI notes is a bit akward with the pads, but you can always sample chords and map them to the pads for instant fun.

Was the video fake? He could've sampled the glitches but on the video he is triggering same pads for sounds and glitches.

Yeah, I also have Komplete (and Maschine) but I don't think that envelopes are the whole truth here. He's not using Maschine in midi mode, that's for sure (that way he could've triggered the FINGER or similar glitch effect).

I still suspect that the video is fake. But then again, maybe someone has more info on this?

EDIT: oh, and the video description said that everything was made with maschine. So does he use the grain delay with pitch to have the glitch effect?

You are shit guys. So easy to do the same thing.
I should make a video of the samples I got, it's fucking easy to do the same thing, jamming with some glichy samples, and there you go, you got a HIT. !!!
BTW, I'm drunk.

It's not fake. One of the things that Maschine does that not many people know about is that you can use it as a multi-effects step sequencer like Sugar Bytes Effectrix or Glitch:

While I was aware of outsourcing your effects to another group, I never thought to use that for live glitching. This is awesome!

i was a little intimidated by this thing when i first came across it. was just about to drop $1500 on a machinedrum. i think i might save myself $1000 and get on board with the maschine. sounds too good to be true 8O

My exact intentions...But I also used an Akai as a main machine in the past. Getting Maschine is like woking on a Akai again but on steroids. Totally changed my work flow. I use Maschine in standalone & have Live slaved to it. Better control over Maschine this way rather it running as a plugin IMOH. Do it---You will not be dissapointed. But make sure you get the FULL version & not a EDU version in case it isn't your thing. You can resale a FULL version license from Native Instruments but not a EDU. It's a gamble because you find EDU versions cheap online & some retailers doesn't require proof of being in school etc. (i.e. E-Bay) 8)
