I'll probably change my mind in about 5 minutes but off the top of my head and in no particular order

Netflix
Nanostudio
Zumocast
Pandora
On the Grill or Epicurious - tie

On another note, here's a cool visual app I came across

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/gaze-bea ... 60684?mt=8

I'm always on the look out for these type apps as good background visual eye catchers.

Zumocast. THAT I need to check out. Cool.
And what's on your list? I feel so rude for not asking before but that's probably because as an Apple user I generally don't care about other people's cute little money mismanagement based alternative opinions. Sorry to briefly throw you in that bucket.

I wonder if AirPlay is going to get rid of the need to use 3rd party apps for streaming content to your iPad.

Probably not because it probably only works over your home wifi connection and there's still file formats that the iPad can't read without it being filtered through a converter first which Apple will most likely not provide. :x

@Rave. Have you tried out the Plex app for iPad? I've heard it's buggy and by looking at the screen captures it looks like it's totally missing a lot of the point of Plex, a beautiful GUI. It looks like just another version of the Remote app. Also as some pointed out if you're using it to remotely control Plex on your Mac they left out a volume control. FAIL.

Hi,

I do have plex for iPad and it does have a volume slider. It is lacking some of the main machine features but as a whole I think it is fine. I also think they will add more stuff over time.

Cheers

Cool about the volume slider.

It was also reported that the single purchase Plex app will work on both iPhones and iPads, but with the iPad version they did very little to take advantage of the larger screen real estate. Agreed?

We're on the same page with apps ownership (with 15 more slots available until you have to side swipe to the next page :D)

I haven't really played with Remote since the retooling, but I'll have to mess with it this weekend.

TouchAble. I'll get back to it. By Q1 2011 at the latest I promise.

Also agree about Atomic. Nothing more needs to be said.

I also have a lot of games but nothing to toss in my top 5 just yet. I have a lot of high hopes for the Unreal people and letting others use their stunning graphics coding.

Oh, and cprezzzzzz rulez, I guess.

I'm adding this to my top 5 - 6.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/appad ... d305663481

It's THE news feed for all things iPad and iPhone and some general Apple stuff. Gives reviews, some demo videos, let's you know what apps just went down in price or are now free, talks about upcoming releases, what the top apps are for specific uses, and gives you hidden features on apps you may not know about.

For example on the free flixster app

http://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/flixs ... 85089?mt=8

on the iPhone version you can also view your netflix queue, rearrange the order, and even add movies to your queue directly from the app. I found out about that on an appadvice article on best Netflix apps (I thought Netflix was the only Netflex app. Wrong.)

Also there's direct links from the apps discussed on appadvice to the app store on the iPad so you can get that shit that instant.

Everybody should have this. Nothing better than reading endlessly about the iPad on the iPad.

Probably not because it probably only works over your home wifi connection

The way I understand it, AirPlay via the iPad will NOT rely on your home wifi network at all. It's sending a wifi stream DIRECTLY from your iPad to an Airport - or one of the new audio products that come with AirPlay on board.

Oh, for the Love of All That Is HOLY.

While they still try and figure out video codec types for the Androids, Apple will soon allow me to send audio and video from my iPad to....to.....well, anything.

WIN.

:x and

I was about to contact a developer because even though the screen capture of their apps showed a landscape view I couldn't get it to go landscape on my iPad. But then I thought the problem might be with my iPad since it was having that problem on several apps. So I went and checked the iBooks app and sure enough, wouldn't work on that either. :x

So then went to check the settings app and there wasn't anything on there about landscape mode or lock. :x

So I did a google search and all I could find was issues with iPod Touhes. The first thread said it was bad hardware and they would probably have to return it. :x The second thread I found said if you double click the home button to the search page some settings to do with this come up at the bottom....but that's also linked to multitasking which the iPads don't do yet. :x

So I restored and reset my iPad which took it about an hour to do everything....but still no fix. :x

Then I saw at the top of the iPad there was an icon of a lock with an arrow circle around it. I saw it before but didn't think anything of it. Surely that's linked to my problem! For whatever reason the term "orientation lock" popped into my head and after I googled that I found out about the switch on the side of the iPad that locks the orientation.

But still, fuck you Jobs for being all minimal with your multipurpose buttons and then adding that single purpose button on the side. :x
