iOS7 GM is floating around, so in typical reckless fashion decided to try it early on the iPad. Working great here, a little different to get used to, but mostly pretty simple to figure out the new stuff. I like! Next up, upgrade the iPhone.

My iPad 3 is choking as it is so I'm scared to put iOS 7 on it. Don't remember hearing anything about it being optimized, just changing and adding more features.

The iPhone 5s’s camera sounds pretty impressive being able to snap 20 pictures per second and shoot slo-mo video.
Only 2 things would have made Wall St. happy.
1). A cheap iPhone. They didn’t. They released a cheap-er iPhone. So fail there.
2). A larger screen. Nope. I’m sure they will at some point but whether they did it now or later you’ll still get a lot of “Apple is playing catch-up”.

I just opened the Mailbox app on my iPhone to check my mail. It gave me the popup asking me if I want to rate it. I hit No Thanks and it instantly crashed.

the most funny thing about this is: ioS 5 allowed slowmo video on the 4s, and I used an app called slo-pro to do it. But when iOS 6 came out it broke the app, and the developers couldn't get a straight answer for why Apple blocked the API calls.
So now iOS 7 comes out and it's ... a new feature!
classic Apple.

I have an app that will do the 20 pictures per second thing and the main reason I use the Mailbox app for my email is you can swipe to delete. iOS 7 and the iPhone 5s will make both those apps redundant. When Apple does that it’s called stealing. When Android does that it’s called true innovation as if every feature in their OS comes completely from the brain trust at Google.

clearly, the correct answer was "yes".

And in true Apple fashion it's not a bug, it's a feature.

I just got an iPad (I know, I am a bit late to the party) and thought I might check out the iPad thread to see what nice audio apps there might be. I don't think I can bring myself to scrawl through 496 pages though! I got Mira for Max which is incredible and Samplr so far. I don't really need an abundance of synths and stuff like that, but if a kind soul would suggest a decent multi-track recorder and/or any special apps that provides functionality you wouldn't necessarily get on a laptop due to lack of multitouch etc, I'd be much obliged - the freer the better of course! I suppose I'm just looking for people's current 'must have' apps rather than a list of every audio app under the sun...

I think Tarekith is the only one left who can answer this with any kind of authority. I believe he just released or is about to release an album that was done entirely on an iPad.

yeah, true. i was just hoping to get trevox a better pole position for a good answer.
i've got the Steinberg LoopMash, it's cool but not a power tool in any way.
i almost bought Cubase iC Pro last night... it gets great reviews and supposedly can do a fair bit of goodness, but it's still Cubase-centric not Live and/or generically DAW-centric so without Cubase 7 you're missing out on a lot of what it can do. it's more of an assistant or complimentary application than it is a stand alone anyway. i just want to be able to control my DAW while i'm standing at the microphone.
*shrugs*

@ trevox - here's one from page 405 that Loopstationzebra swears by in multiple threads.

MW I'm pleased to see this latest development!
Yup, Numbers and the other Apple versions of the MSOffice stuff work pretty well. I'd use those until Microsoft offers their native versions.
I'd avoid that display controller. The lag on those is somewhat significant - depending on how fast you need shit to happen, of course. You gotta go with touchAble. It's the MUST HAVE controller app. You'll just need to have macros mapped up in Live to control your plugin settings ---> touchAble provides easy access to macro controls - and nearly every other parameter that's native to Live.
We expect daily usage reports when you get the beast.

Thanks @beats me and @H2Only. Yeah, I remember reading in some post Tarekith was making an album entirely on an iPad - pretty cool!
I use mostly outboard gear, but am interested in sampling apps, an app (preferably multitrack) to record on the fly etc. At the moment I am using only Max for music (using VEP as a mixer/plugin host), as I am making more generative music in a way that the actual music can almost be written live - long painful process, but I'll get there soon! Having Mira is amazing - literally having anything you want to control on the iPad in multiple tabs with zero setup (no osc/midi involved)! After recording, I usually use Logic for mixing and there's a Logic remote which works really well too. Will definitely check out touchAble when I get over my nerding and start using Live again!
