I find that twitter is a great way to allow girls who have 2 followers and are following 8975 other people to find me, until they are removed for spamming.

Imagine other topics covered this same way: 'Food' is pointless and self-serving, I have seen fat people, they eat too much food. I think People only want to get fat by ingesting million calories. Food is pointless
well put!

I have to admit, I was never really sure why I did the Twitter thing at first, seemed kinda pointless. But now I find it really useful once I realized it was a great way to keep up to date on music tech news. I never did the RSS thing, but I find twitter super useful for getting quick updates from Sonicstate, CDM, KVR, etc.

you can ask that question for anything. then again, will google wave get the support it would need to surpass everything? and it's not about surviving per se. wave allows twitter to exist, but twitter could just handle it over the wave protocol, which is very well suited for any sort of synchronized shared state.

even the ableton live project sharing could be done with wave. and it, then, could go as far as it could be realtime in the app, that more than one edit the project. now that would be fun. several people all over the world producing a track together, live, realtime, all over the web.

this should go in the Feature Wishlist :)

I think twitter is an essential tool along with others to promote your music as it easily integrates with other social networks..
type a message then 3 or more other social network sites are updated at the same moment..
Just use it smart.

I don't get why people (musicans) are bashing it, use the damn thing,
spread the music, marketing.. (if u want people to hear your music).

integrate integrate !1

If you're interested in learning more about using social media to give your music career a jump start, you might want to check out Ariel Hyatt and CyberPR:

http://arielpublicity.com/

She knows her shit and there are a bunch of free videos and resources on her site. She also has a new book that I'm sure I will eventually buy:

Bash Twitter all you want while the rest of us continue to leverage it as a great way to market our music :)

Twitter is cool, I found so good record label contact on there, even artist's real page not like the reocrd label made myspace pages. I don't twit everything I do thru out the course day like some people do, thats so annoying, like what I ate for breakfast, snack lunch what I'm watching on TV, etc. I think those type of Twitter users are begging for attention and need their own reality TV show
