Tone, I find myself agreeing with you a majority of the times... this is not one of those. I mean, is there really a need to keep regurgitating the "REAL INSTRUMENT / REAL MUSICIANS / MOUSE JOCKIES" thing? You do have a partial point... there are indeed some mouse jockeys who randomly click away until they get something going... BUT... is it really that necessary to generalize? Is a person who plays virtual instruments, be it within Reason, Record, Live, Logic, etc. with a MIDI keyboard not good enough to be considered a real musician? Must a person have a FORMAL musical education to be a musician? Does a person with zero theoretical background but with a good enough ear to be able to mouse in some great melodies/harmonies lose the right to be called a musician?
