Re: Apple iPad. Meh.
Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but it's fair to say that just about everybody has used a PC for some extended period in their life. It's almost unavoidable, especially in the business world. They didn't like the experience and then went to Apple where they found a better experience. So this "blind" or "cult" theory is largely bullshit.
Meanwhile there's plenty of PC using Apple haters that haven't spent anywhere near the time on Apple computers that the Apple users spend on PCs that will just find a list of things (that most people don't care about off these forums) that they don't like and then call all Apple products useless or expensive crap.

yup, i seriously believe that applies to 95% of all people using apple computers (respectively preferring them), they all used PCs or had to and that made them realise... what is 'wrong' with them, and sorry to say that this applies especially to the use for audio.
also, most apple users don't think that nothing is 'wrong' with apple computers, but surely that there is less 'wrong' with them (actually it is all about OSX and it being less 'wrong' then windows)

i grew up with apple, and still use them from time to time.beats me wrote:Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but it's fair to say that just about everybody has used a PC for some extended period in their life. i said it before: I'm no hater. i just see zero point in them as they have a restricted palette of choices which don't fit me (and i don't want to make myself fitting them, as most others like to), and have none of their gains.
so they are expensive, non fitting choices with zero gain. if that changes for some device from them one day, i'll buy. like i buy anything that fits.
i bought an ipod for my gf. it fits her needs perfectly. and that's what tools and devices are ment for: to fit. not to hype or anything. and that's where i hate the apple company + the fanboynewsreports all over the web.

You can't really argue with somebody who finds one thing doesn't fit their needs and another company offers something that does. That's fair.davepermen wrote:i grew up with apple, and still use them from time to time.beats me wrote:Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but it's fair to say that just about everybody has used a PC for some extended period in their life. It's just for me that I do find some shortcomings on Apple products, no company is perfect, but for me and my needs I also haven't found anything that PCs do better than Apple. So if Apple doesn't do it then PCs don't do it either.
More often than not Apple isn't about delivering "finally it does this thing I wanted", but more about delivering things you never even thought of before that you eventually feel like you don't know how you live without. And as was mentioned, can be a yard stick by which other companies try to innovate on.
I also have absolutely no problem with Apple's control freakish ownership of what happens on their machines. It has served me well and allowed for stable integration of so much of my media and entertainment experience.

lack of flash is business decision. flash is no longer banner and stupid animation thing. jobs is making money on mp3/videos/games/apps you can listen/watch/play/use with flash for free or by paying someone else.Panic wrote:Flash is 100% redundant with HTML 5. The "there's no flash on it" arguement is dead.
flash is now main media dsitribubution in most web 2.0 services - that ruins his business models. some people will love hime for lack of flash, though. he's new messiah.
