Beats is correct.

I have Pro Tools certification (training supplied by my former employer) but I am currently unemployed.

However, tens of thousands of other people have PT certification from SAE/Berklee/Full Sail and other music tech colleges and there are only a few hundred studios needing help, mostly at minimum wage. The course itself, was really nothing spectacular, my opinion was that if I had been given 2-3 weeks alone time with PT and the manual, with a couple of questions posted on the DUC, that I could have achieved the same for nothing as the expensive course. YMMV.

I don't think most people serious about certification would be using it as a music career bump Alex - but one or two people who have inquired here or elsewhere seem to think that a certified sticker will bring them prosperity and riches, rightly or wrongly.

Do you find you have more respect among the DJ and music biz crowd because you're certified Alex ? My guess would be not really (unless some of the above wanted some lessons on using Live).

well I just think it means they take it that little bit more seriously from the outset because they don't need to worry about who you are or why you are teaching Live - they already know you have the Ableton tick.

Personally it's more for my video training anyway, I don't have that many students... but that could be where I live as much as anything... I've had enquiries from Sydney and Melbourne where there are bigger populations as well.

Yeah, I know I'm making sweeping statements against something you have that is helping you put food on the table. I'm just sayin' it's not for everyone and people should have their head straight on what they hope to get out of it vs. money forked out.

Town names in Australia are WAY better than in the US.

That's cause the people they robbed their country from had cooler sounding words than the people you robbed your country from.

Didn't realize Shut-The-Fuck-Up was an old aboriginal name. You're right, way cooler sounding than "Milwaukee" or "Chicago".
