Off to try it, as it can't be any less stable than 3.4.1, serious!

I run automap versions of all my plug-ins in Kore, which is loaded in Live. Again though, I only have VSTs enabled in both Kore and Live, no audio units. I have automap pro enabled as well.

Are you using automapped audio units? I'd stay away. With VSTs, the greatest thing is that if you ever get worried about automap being buggy or just don't trust it in a live situation, you can simply remove the automap versions of your VSTs temporarily and all tyhose VSTs will just load their regular versions and you don't have to have automap in the equation. Later (as long as you don't save the set), you can put your automap VSTs back in your folder where they were, and the next time you open your set, they will all be the automap versions again. This isn't possible with audio units. This is a little known secret because you have to move the automap VSTs into your system VST folder (they get created in your user VST folder).

:D
Yeah that's an awesome trick, I'm taking you up on it for sure. Moved all completed songs with Kore instances over to VST versions, I'll sit down this weekend and do the songs I'm working on next, then disable AU plug ins in Kore. I use AU plug ins outside of Kore regularly with quite a few cool freebies that are AU only etc. Automap, would be far more fun for me if it wasn't hosed as far as the Original two LED SLs are concerned. They really should have worked with Ableton to get Mackie control support and Automap at the same time... frustrating. Why Cubase always gets third party support right where everyone else just craps their pants and looks confused I'll never know? ReWire, Automap etc. all well supported in Cubase, a DAW I'll probably never use for music.....

Not sure what you mean by this? I'm still using my SL61 mkI and it's fine. :?:

You have to switch back and forth between the Live template and the Automap template in order to use Automap right.
Problem is the only reason I need the Live template is to control volume on synths or tracks that futz up in a different room etc. so it's a sort of race to do this if I have to, live.
In Cubase the sliders, buttons and LEDon the right all correspond to the tracks in Cubase, giving names and volume controls etc., while the left LED and knobs are assignable via Automap.
You never have to leave the Automap template to get both features. That's what I mean by hosed, it's a partial fix at best, frustrating, but hey... The cheaper SL they came out with actually has a faster switching between templates.... bleh.

It's just another example of an undeveloped feature in a computer music environ... like NI making Rig Kontrol 2 without thinking about allowing MIDI control later, ( probably the most requested feature since Rig Kontrol 1 ) so only Rig Kontrol 3 has the ability to be used as a MIDI device like Kore or Maschine..... anyway it's pretty cool what we do have, just frustrating to use the FCB1010 instead of Rig kontrol 2, and the Live Automap instead of Automap Universal because of this stuff.

Ok ya, now I know what you mean. It is too bad Live needs it's own special template and won't integrate into automap universal like the other DAWs. However, having an APC40 I don't really thing about that. I haven't used the Live template on the SL since I got it I don't think. Only automap...

Yeah, eventually when I cave and buy an iPad I'll just use the iPad for Mackie control.... probably more than that, but live probably mostly that. The iPhone is too small for that stuff. Though honestly after getting to the point to where we're actually playing live sets and such, I'm using a foot pedal to control my live instrument volumes, and the rest is slowly being massaged into shape, so I may follow suite and use only Automap after some time here. :)

Hey did you have to ask for the beta? Seriously, 3.4.1 is a dog on my system... :|
