Yes.

To complain about Live 8 being buggy and to demand version 9 (as if a higher number will solve the problem) is to miss the point entirely.

Look at it this way; lots of the latest full DAWS have amp sims (eg the last release of logic has one). Ableton need to keep up so work with a partner to make an amp sim to include in the suite so it's got a similar "spec list" to the likes of logic when new users consider it an option.. Since it's only a point update (I.e x.2, not 9.0) they have to give it to all suite users. Any new user who buys live doesn't get it, anyone who buys the suite does. So it's fair. They keep with the competition, and any suite users getthe benefit.

I was considering guitar rig. All sims will be crap compared to my real guitar rig (Diezel Herbert + tc fx + analogue stomp boxes), but was thinking just a plug and play digi sim for sticking ideas down, or just popping round a mates to jam some ideas plugged with my laptop and motu, would be well handy. So, cheers abes, you just saved me a few quid I didnt have. It's all money towards a possible Apc!

So as a long time abeton user who decided to upgrade to the whole suite when it came out ,even though I often don't use lots of it (hardly use sampler although I mean to, and collision and the other thing I can't even remember the name of basically never), it seems quite fair. There's just still a feeling from some people that ableton owes them cuz they had a ropey patch. Hopefully that's now over or on it's way out, so either deal with it and look to he future, or give up ableton if tye tech support cant help and try to get a refund (while forwarding all your latest bug reports every time). It's not a happy solution, but most if life isn't, especially when computers are involved!
Live relevant things: Suite 12, MacBook M1 Max, RME UFX II (kext drivers), Push 1
