Ditto. I already have PLENTY of free synths. Don't need another one.

Releasing another synth is like posting the same message on a forum 3 times.
15" PB 2.5 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, 750 GB HD, Live 9 still no cue points or program change messages?!?. Doesn't do shit.

48% with 1 Operator (preset: RHYTHMIC Hard Tech), a 1 Bar drum loop, and a bit of reverb. I can afford Operator but my Powerbook can't. Too bad. I really had my hopes up.

A banjo tune with Operators "Choir operatic" preset.

No, sorry, feels I've got enough freebees that already fit in the line of my ideas of sound productions, so I don't want to pay for this. Yet.

ok, just a very brief check:

Nice :D

I tried a few presets and I like the sound.

The presets are very brave. My advice is to map controllers to TIME & TONE.
Strange sounds guranteed.

Jesus, hours after it is released and people already want to know how to remove it. That would be really annoying if the demo sticks to your device list forever.

well nobody's perfect and I'm sure ableton are learning and growing all of the time. it was a bold move to make their first embarkment into this area
with a 'synth' as it's definitely not a popular choice but that's why we appreciate them so much, i'm sure that it'll either end up being a good idea or a very good learning experience for them, but I need:

the ability to edit samples in the clipview ie: looping triming and truncating
the clipview is a natural for that.

folder tracks, or hideaway tracks I REALLY need this one

detachable midi screen, like Reasons

ableton still rocks yo
for the love of Live

Anyone got any figures for how much processor power Operator takes on PC's yet.

Aside, I think the main mistake made here was the amount of hype that was cultivated (albeit passively) for the new update. I'm sure Operator will be a dam fine synth that will stand the test of time, but if you build something up like this has been your courting dissapointment straight away.

maybe its not down to choice its down to economics, i cant afford this thing yet even if i want it and i certainly dont want to be advertised to in a piece of expensive software i already own

am i bein paranoid or does this stink like a m$oft stunt, embedded software etc ie outlook and IE

I'm quite QUITE thrilled with Reason 3.0. No letdown for me there.

I'm actually not "letdown" by the Operator, either. It's an optional add-on, not an integral change to the way Live works. No big deal, really.

Perhaps the fact that Reason and Live were such high quality programs to start with has made it difficult for them to be improved in huge ways. I mean, really, Reason and Live are unbeatable, IMO. 10 years ago two programs such as this were unimaginable.

Honestly I do not think, that this synth will stand the test of time.
I would not buy it for 50$, because it is not better than some freeware synths in my opinion, definitly miles away from the commercial ones.
