one more here, already 6 months on cubase 6 now. it was a good decision i can say today. also love live, but sold the licence. sorry guys, there was enough time to realise we need other stuff than new instruments with every new version. it is the sequencer that matters.

MMhh maybe your right - but it depends on the things you'll have to do. I use cubase 6 and Live 8 - both sequencers have their strengthen and weaken. For some works I prefer to use Cubase and for other things I prefer to use Live. But I can't say - wow Cubase is the better Sequencer or Live or Logic or Studio One. These are tools for me not more.
I'll tried Studio One, and it feels very good. But my workflow on Cubase or Abelton is much faster, because I know what to do to get things I want, and that's the point. I don't want to switch to another DAW because it has some features - or 64bit. This is coming to Live for shure. And beside this - Live and the other DAW's have different features and Concepts so in some cases it's not even possible to compare - it depends of what you want to do. Before 15 years I would be happy to have all the things I can use today.

Yeah weird. But kinda cool in a medieval way. Like the OP is leaving a guild or a school of kung fu and wants to let us know he's going. Presonus is lucky to have such a dedicated follower defending its honour.

I also tried Reaper and after 2-4 weeks it became more natural to work on songs. It seems a little more efficient if you already have a song structure and use more instruments and/or audio tracks.

The routing options are organized differently but it has some major advantages regarding "the complete view". Racks are folders and you have so many routing options it´s sometimes scary in terms of experimenting.

I heavily tweaked the menus and submenus and used key commands that suit my workflow better. CPU-Hit is also lower and audio recording and editing seems to be more traditional. You can choose different types of automation curves and rendering seems to be more flexible.

I will use live as a beat mangling sampler but all the rest gets done in reaper.

The main reason for the de facto switch was the lack of politeness in this very forum. The reaper fanboys are also upfront but the reactions and especially the tone are more friendly overall.

I´m sorry to say this. But that´s the reason why I wanted to try a different daw. No feature set but some feeling of being welcome even though I´m not good in cracking jokes.

Sometimes I have the impression that the loudmouths turn the creative and socially driven side of this forum into a joke festival with funny remarks, which aren´t so funny but often are offensive. Polite people try to avoid these situations and try to find a different place to share their passion for music.

The main reason for using live as my main daw was the forum, it is now the main reason for using reaper.

I never understood why people feel they have to choose one DAW or another. They all do different things better, use what works for a particular need and have a few on hand if that's what's needed. No one says you have to be exclusive to just one, you're not getting married to it

Back when I did work with a singer and recorded vocals in a studio, I did the "comp" features I was used to in Live. So I just used Cubase to record vocals and did everything else in live.

I don't get one or the other either. Even for people who can't afford to buy every DAW, they still own both when they "switch".
