Is this a trigger finger I see bbefore before me? Uh...yes.
And liking it much, once you figure out the pad/controller assign business. Even the Enigma is a little er...enigmatic but once you got it down it's sweet, there are still a few things I'm trying to figure, might pick some of the brains round here if I can't get it down 100%. Build is pretty good, pads feel nice, outer edge is a little insensitive but it's certainly not dead-centre-or-nothing, depends how you play too. Perfect plug'n'play setup too. Been loving the compactness of it on my desk and having the pads assigned in a non-keyboard config. means that bashing away with synth/bass etc sounds gives a very different flavour to what I usually play on a keyboard.
Now if someone could just figure out how to emulate the mpc's roll button feature.......

Right? This would be such a great feature in Live5. Note repeat with presure sensitivity. God, that might actually get me off of the mpc2000 for good.

that shouldn't be to hard to do, now that live5 will support 3rd party midi effects

if you watch the video for the trigger finger, you can see that he does this.
i think it's each sample on its own track, set to loop every 16th (or 32 or whatever)
and then the velocity/aftertouch of the pad is controlling the volume level.
so when he increases pressure, the rolls gets louder, or if he just taps, you her

i could be wrong, i just glanced at it.. perhaps there is a template for it.

yeah exactly, the video shows how to emulate it, plus in a much better way than the note repeat on the mpc2000, since you can setup different clips with different repeat rates.

can the repeat swing aswell???

if you had a clip that was 1 full bar of the repeated notes each exactly on beat then you applied whatever swing setting to that clip.

all they are doing on the trigger finger clip is mapping the aftertouch to the track vol for the various clips in live. the clips can be running whatever you want.

also, i wanted to say that i got to play with Rahlo's Trigger Finger at the Indy Ableton Live User Group meeting tonite....

that thing is f'ing dope and i have to have one !!
latency was non existant, sensitivity was excellent, programability is excellent, and the pads feel perfect. the sliders are actually quite smooth, i understand some folks would prefer better slider caps but i was pleased. and the knobs were smooth too.

the thing is awesome and after using it for about 20 minutes, i have zero complaints and cannot wait to get one of my own

the only thing i'd change is adding a zero velocity button (an opposite of the max velocity button) that could be used to sort of erase notes you've programmed into a live midi clip. You wouldn't actually be erasing notes this way, but you would be sending a note with zero velocity so it would be silent and just as good as erasing a note. that'd be handy for stage work and live corrections no doubt. but then maybe the enigma software allows for this kind of configurability - i dunno. If it doesn't, they could always add that in an update.

And in comparison with the AKAI MPD 16 - if you compare ONLY the pads' quality and don't take other features into account - which one has the better pads?

Did you try switching between presets while playing? Any noticeable delay / load time when you do that?
