I want this one badly. It hits the sweet spots for me. Scale transposition and a built in speaker. What more could one want :P

Yeah. I'm not usually in the market for these sort of boxes, was never an electribe person, have never been tempted by a Maschine. But there's something exceedingly silly and just plain fun about this thing. The "happy accidents" factor, and the way that the interface seems limited but in a quite deliberate way.
Not bad Novation. Not bad.

That would be the pro version..with a touch screen, it's going to be the first MPC style launchpad :)

hm, it's not bad, but I think the Electribe is much more powerfull in the sound department.
Though I might change my mind if they really come though on the software version interacting with it.

But what is really turning me off is the weight. I regret it on Push and I would regret it here.
I would never use that anywhere but home.
The Electribe weighs about a third of this!

It has a few advantages over the Electribe, but the only one that would matter to me is the much more resonable pattern length of 8 bars (and the nice way it has to change the length of several parts at the same time)

I also don't really see the use of the speaker. If I'm at home I have a very nice set up already and if I'm out and about (even if I'd take it with) I would rather use headphones than annoying other people with my playing.

It supposed to be not that hard to make it a reality, since they have a mature launchpad app.

Maybe one day....

The challenge a manufacturer has is to pre-guess what everyone wants, the Novation strategy for this particular bit of kit will become clear over the coming months....

The speaker is a bit of fun, you can resample the output back through a sound-card for instance, i use the headphones mainly to also not annoy my other half (the flashing lights do that enough already she says)

Cheers

They should include a remote script for Live as it could nicely double as a controller for that.Especially if you could switch between the modes on the fly and have Circuit in Live as an external instrument.

The electribe is still kinda heavy IMO, that solid metal case weighs a good bit.

Circuit looks pretty interesting to me after reading the manual. There's a bit more depth there than I thought. The 8 bar pattern limit is a bit misleading though, it's really one bar patterns but you can chain up to 8 of them. The only thing I'm waiting on is what the synths sound like, how much depth and variety is there. Otherwise it'll be something like Figure or Kaossilator where I end up sick of the sounds in a few months :)

Ok my bad, I just looked it up and it's 1.6Kg too.

I have no idea why I had 600g stuck in my head. :?

So that point is pretty much moot then.

Anyways both are only half of what Push weighs. So that's a very good thing then 8)

You'll be enjoying the editablility of the sounds that are in it ;-)

Agree it could use a switchable remote script for session view control....

Very cool. Sounds like they plan on adding an editor I just read, so that's also a big plus.
