Sire, intelligence does not equal global insight. Global insight = the bigger picture, the picture outside of what is or isn't good for you as a person, the picture of whats good for humanity as a whole. Most people, unfortunately, lack this ability.
Do not be arrogant enough to think that having a large amount of intelligence automatically gives you insight. I know many people with IQs over 150 who have serious social problems due to their 'outsider' social status during their schooling. These people are fucking smart when it comes to maths or science, but falter at the most basic of political generalisations.

hmm... yes, I DO see a pattern forming: Radical oversimplification seems to be becoming a favorite rhetorical tool of today's laptop musicians.

I'm sure you've spent tons of time in the Gaza Strip, had coffee with Islamic Jihad, and taught Arafat how to use Live...which is why you're so knowledgeable about the area. Or....

Actually, I'm reading a book about Iran/Iraq war right now. It would appear that Iran and Iraq were only too willing to suck the tit of any superpower that would purchase their oil. And of course, France, Russia, Britain and the US were more than happy to offer their tit. Tit for tat as they say.
Throw religon into the mix: Shia vs. Sunnis, and you've got a powder keg baby. So drop the "It's Bush' fault...It's Sharon's fault...". It sound very silly.
All you "War for Oil" folks...get a clue. The "oil" wars have been ongoing ever since WE decided that WE needed this stuff to, oh, make computers, drive to our gigs, and build buildings to house fancy offices that Ableton employees use to create software packages like Live. Etc., etc. So until you're willing to WALK, and create beats by BANGING two stones together, and LIVE ON A FARM (yeah, yeah...I'm sure some of you will say you're living this way already), why don't you to say: Thank you Mr. Bush for allowing me to Warp beats and make 14 year old girls/boys dance till the early 'morn.

Well call me an idiot...but I'd imagine it takes more than a basic understanding of Live and D&B to be elected as the President of any country. Seriously, how can you folks parrot such nonsense and feel proud about yourselves?

Hey you Americans learned your lessons well...schooled in Imperialism by Britain and France. Germany was nasty as well. But we know how that story ended, don't we?

There's no need for petty babyish comments like this ... grow up sir.
I am half-isreali and partly agree with the comment he made, I have given up following the news about israel's latest attack on the Palestinians because its tiring getting angry and ashamed almost every time I watch the news about israel. I'm not saying one side is always right or wrong. Just that those who hold the power abuse it very badly.

Did he call Israel vile? Yes
Does he go under the name "Henry Ford"? Yes
Does he espouse ideas that psychiatric patients dream about? Yes
Do the math.

If all you see when you the watch the news is the "latest attack on the Palestinians" then you need to pick up a history book. Almost anything will do.

Yawn. I live in Canada. We have a not-so decent year of gun violence in Toronto, and the police (read: those who hold the power) are racial profiling and arresting many o' black men. No one's shedding any tears. Safety comes first. During the Oka crisis (80's), 10-14 natives with M16's shot a cop, and Quebec called in the armed forces.
God forbid buses and dance clubs should ever blow-up where you live, I'm wondering how your government will deal with it?
BTW folks, I'm no fan of Bush nor am I blind to dubious reasons behind wars and terror attacks. However some of the comments that have been posted make Bush look like a Physics Prof. Anyhoo, I'd hate for a newbie to stumble onto these boards and think Live is only being used by folks struggling with Schizophrenia.

that's a crazy statement, radical
everything threatens your safety. Makes me sick to hear people say that 'radical' Islam is the new world threat, i disagree. George Bush and the relatives of his bloodline are a threat to your safety. How many people have white supremists killed over the last century & how many were killed by any kind of Islamists over the same period of time?

Islam is at war with Islam. The one islam is the religion, the other are a bunch of radicals who act in the name of islam.
You think bin ladin is a hero to the radicals in the middle-east?
Maybe ask the taliban... Oh wait, they're gone.
Ask Saddam.... Oh whoops again.
Bin ladin is as welcome to those people as peewee is welcome on children shows these days.
There's more then enough shit going on to keep you from hating people without a valid reason.
Iran is getting some shit together to fire a missile at europe, the dutch army is going to Afghanistan for a sweep-up....
Kim Jong Il's army keeps growing....
China manufactured enough toys and fireworks to have some left-overs to play with....
I don't understand fully what is going on in the world.
All i know is: as long as i can fill my time making music, get my forum fix, do some shit for good karma and all doing the other stuff i waste my time with....
Then i'm leading a good life.
I try to keep up with the world, but in the end it doesn't matter.
Life is just a ride.....

Safety comes first huh. Who's safety exactly? Of the comfortable bourgois / holders of power? The trouble is there is too much reaction / revenge going on (if it isnt manipulation...) and not enough thinking .. why? what causes oppressed minorities to lash out? and why is it that people too often see the extremists within certain communities as representing the majority?

Probably stupidly. "My" government does not represent the views of 99% of the country I live in. However, after our tube system got bombed, although there was a predictable backlash at Mosques around the country, overall the bombers achieved very little - the only positive thing being reinforcing the stupidity of the iraq war and its effects. Although Blair of course denied any connection at all.

i will not pretend to speak for mr. henry ford (i do not know him or his personal beliefs), but i will say this:
speaking out against the actions of a NATION does not equal being anti-semitic. i personally am appalled by the israel/palestine situation. both parties have done appalling things, but the gist of it to me, is that israel is a colonizing power that has used military might to crush the palestinian people.
i want israel's GOVERNMENT to lay the fuck off.
that said, there is a difference between Israel and the jewish people/faith.
and just because one does not support the actions of israel, does not make them a jew-hater.
