Mad Max (1 or 2) - fuck yeah!

I also like Fire Walk With Me - the prequel to Twin Peaks series (doesn't have Lara Flynn Boyle though, shame). Angelo Badalamenti and Julie Cruise made one of the most beautiful haunting soundtracks in the history of soundtracks there, imo.

And Caligula, just for the three eyed freaks in the orgy, classic stuff.

I just read through all of these to see if anyone else mentioned this film and no one did...

Everyone should check out You, Me, and Everyone We Know

If you're a huge fan of Fight Club but you hated Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, then you probably won't like this one. But, if you liked Eternal Sunshine than you'll dig this film.

It's pretty much about love + atristic conquest, something the members of this forum can relate to. The whole film is the brainchild of this woman Miranda July, and she's fucking awesome. DJ Shiva, run- don't walk to your Netflix que.

Seriously, it's the best flick since Eternal Sunshine. Eternal Sunshine was better though...
Another one of my favorite films is Tigrero: A Film That Was Never Made
It's a documentary about the friendship between filmmakers Samuel Fuller and Jim Jarmusch and a trip they take to South America.

On a similar note, I wound not recommend the film I Heart Huckabees. IMO the movie just plain sucked. It's depressing to see a great actor like Dustin Hoffman in such a shitty movie. It's a good example of a film trying to tap into the sublime engine of Charlie Kaufman and failing miserably.

I loved Huckabees, spent $40 for the deluxe edition. It's an odd movie, has a not quite finished feel to it but the subtext is really cool.

Interconnectedness rooted in the manure of human drama. I'd rather just hit myself with a kickball all day or have sex. How am I not myself?

The Big Lebowski.

Funniest movie ever, IMO.

I saw anchorman suggested in here a couple times, but I have to suggest the dvd of the "second" anchorman: "Wake up Ron Burgundy:The Adventure continues". Most people don't know it exists, but it is hilarious. It's sort-of a sequel, but using out takes and an alternate plot development. The extra features (rehearsals/alternate takes etc.) put me in stitches!

Otherwise I heart huckabees is fantastic, as well as any wes anderson.
Definitely watch bottlerocket! (Wilson bros)

Crash was phenomenal on the serious side.
Oh and batman begins rocked also!

1. went to see it in the theater when I was 15..........it was great.

2. went to see it opening night (when that meant something) and was completley blown.......the only other flick I've seen more times is startrek 2, the wrath of khan.
