I think that's a bit of a misconception.
I believe she is responsible for a large part of production on her records, at least on Vespertine and Medulla (Bell is credited as a co-producer, and Matmos certainly contributed sound design and beats, but Bjork did a lot on her own in Iceland). And Timbaland is not all over Volta -- he co-produced three tracks on it.
