Dammit, I wish I could get the boxed edition without the EIC stuff.
I have v3 and v5 boxed, so v7 would keep the series.
Didn't they offer a boxed upgrade without EIC for v6 ?

Can you drag a VST Instrument to a drum rack pad or only Live Instruments?

wow, cool!

I already am using Lounge Lizard. Is it redundant now, or new and improved?

One thing which seems missing: crossfading clips. It would be great if you could select this when gluing two clips together, like in ProTools and other editors. Or can it still be added since it's a beta. A serious must have on my behalf. Most serious for serious audio editing. If included, Live can do it all!

But anyways: Live 7 looks like a great and complete tool. The new simulation synths must be great. Hopefully I can join the beta testing soon!

yes, Electric is a mutated version of LoungeLizard3
the onboard effects are replaced by Lives effects - the presets are the same.

clip crossfading won't be added in this release, it's a big change under the hood.

what upgrade path are you guys taking? are you buying tension and analog and electric and everything?

i'm thinking the bundle with studio drums and drum machines looks rather tasty, but i'm curious as to how analog sounds

any instrument

about the new features: no big improvement in arrangement except for multi-lane automation.
one nice little device (actually there's 2 of them) allow you to plug external hardware easily (they're called External Instrument and External Audio Effect).
and what's cooler, is that you can use the Ext Inst device to route easily VST instruments with multiple midi/audio inputs/outputs (for insctance, you can have 1 instrument of kontakt appear as 1 audio channel), or you can use it to rewire with reason for instance (reason instruments will appear as audio channels while you still play midi notes) => you can freeze and flatten that and still keep your reason settings.

Damn! missed the beta again.

I'm liking the fold out channels in the drum rack, can you do that with any channel in the mixer?

Any improvements/alterations to the way Live deals with groove and swing?

Some nice improvements in there, finally, sidechaining!!

some really great and useful tools in this release.. could have done without some of the instruments and would've love to have seen more effects like a convolution reverb and a freely assignable LFO!!!!
