i'm glad the angstolooper suggestion worked for you. i should drop it, but i'm interested:

i still don't get by what you're saying about being able to "map all it's buttons in live, not like mobius." you can map all of mobius' buttons, even when running as a vst in live. that's actually part of why i use mobius -- it's midi-mapping is as easy as anything i've seen. so i still don't get what you're trying to say about mobius, would be willing to help if you'd explain. you may not need the help now that you've got angstro.

ok..

when you see the plugin in live on the bottom panel.. you cant map any of the buttons, record etc.. cause there not visable.

On the other looper..angstrom, you can see all its parameters to map.

so all you need to do is open the plug in window, then go into the midi control for mobius directly in the VST window. are you really complaining that you have to take that one step (actually, two clicks) to see all the controls you want to map while running as a VST in live? because that's pretty much the case with most good non-live VSTs (you can't map everything in reaktor direct from live, etc.).

and you can see all the parameters in angstro because there are very, very few controls (so they can all fits) and angstrom designed it to look live a live plug (ableton, remind us again why you didn't pick the looper up?). if you want real control of the sort mobius offers, you pretty much can't have it all show in live if it's a VST (and even live instruments like sampler and analog need multiple tabs (and a cluttered interface)).

but thanks for responding, i get it now (though i still don't get why you'd care). enjoy angstrolooper (i do, wish mobius had the tape fx too).

I have a footswitch and want to use it for looping in live 7. The footswitch maps to a keyboard key.

short press = i.e. key "a"
long press = i.e. key "b"

That's all that's possible.
Now I'm trying the angstro looper but I don't know on which knobs I should map my keys to get something like this:

short press = record loop
short press = stop recording + begin play loop
short press = stop playing loop
short press = play loop again
etc...
long press = clear loop for recording again.

Angstrolooper is nice because of the interface and simplicity, but Mobius is IMHO a more interesting looper because of the speed and reverse switches which remind me of the old EH 16 sec delay I used a lot in the past.

What would be cool is if the MObius developer could get hooked up with the Abes (or vice versa) and the GUI could get streamlined to run in LIve.

Just a dream, I know.

it's always been a mystery to me why some of the DAWs haven't picked up on the free loopers out there and integrated them. not to be mercenary, but how much can it cost to buy out someone who's giving it away currently? seems like an easy way to obtain a competitive advantage. there must be compatibility or business issues i don't understand. (it's also odd to me that GR includes a looper, but one that's very stripped down (they're clearly going after people who want just basic multitracking rather than actual looping).)
