Bump.

Jeez, implement this already, its not hard at all.
or at least open up the API completely so we can do it ourselves

This would take a bit more work, but its definitely what SHOULD be implemented. Great idea

Yes, *please* add this feature.
I was just thinking this morning about how as much as I appreciate Noatikl for generative music-making, I don't really use it very much, thanks to Live's follow actions.
By expanding the functionality of this feature, Live will have that much more generative potential.

If the follow action time box were to default to the clip length (as someone has suggested) then would this be sufficient? That wouldn't entail any GUI change.

Hi,
I remember I was the one who suggested that, but with a difference. I was talking about warping clips with minimum use of CPU - like using one start and one end warp marker in complex mode. What's been discussed here is the ability to define follow actions for unwarped clips using a 'when clip ends' option.
Best,
Korhan

since a few months i'm using live also for djing. then i could split the tracks into several parts.
it's senseless for me to measure the time from start to stop, because this time is variable, when i'm working whit loops inside the track.
Jep, exactly my problem as well!!
We don't need predefined times for follow actions only but events for triggering follow actions as well. Events like 'clip ended'.
Can't wait for M4L .. regardless of it's cost. I NEED this feature .. besides some others

Ah, so I was right but was wishing I was wrong. WHY hasn't this been done, it's so incredibly obvious. I do experimental, NON-BEAT music and I really don't want to warp, quantize, or otherwise stretch my clips, but I love the follow actions ability to generate complex installations etc. But without warp mode, the follow actions can't be properly defined, and when warped, all the detail of long slow fade ins get's inevitably chopped, requiring me to edit 100's of them.
Ableton, I love your software, but please consider it's use by those of us working outside the 'matrix' of beat music (which I love to listen to, but not necessarily make myself

)
Bill
Ps...why is it (or am I wrong?) that with warp mode of, volume envelopes can't be added to clips?

its so simple and so effective - i was wondering why this is not possible yet - every loop player has this option, some of them dont even have another one than this- its so essential - plse Ableton listen

being able to step out the BPM limitation would be genius.
