please everyone....... please only ask your questions so that ableton can give us the answers , please keep the other stuff the ackalades and hoo haws and thread hi-jacking away from this thread and start those conversations in other threads.

obviously Ableton are very busy on our behalf, like Robert said, so lets allow as many people to get their questions answered as possible without taking up realestate on this thread, and without making Robert or whomever else from ableton go through a bunch of stuff before they get to a simple question they can answer.

its for our benifit, they know that Live Rules so please give your thanks, praises, and social chit chatter in another thread.

also I've seen the same question asked several times, we're wasting our opportuinity like that, please read through the thread and see if your question has been answered already before you post it again. use the search function to make it easier.
thanks,

1. Does Live4 have the 2 extra 'edit' buttons I asked for? so I can edit a single audio clip with more than one app, like soundforge, beatcreator, and audiomulch without having to go into prefferences and re-assigning the edit button?

1. What advanced pianoroll editting features can we expect?
2. Is there a scrub/preview tool for midi (and audio) clips?
Check my flash mockup for details on what I'm talking about here http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8221 :)

Macintosh Optimisation - It doesn't seem to have been established if this is altivec or not - I'm wondering whether my G3 could benefit from what has been done (it does only say 'mac optimisation') or whether its definitely Altivec

cheers

Will live 4 be compatible with the digidesign core audio driver?

(to solve the various m-box related issues)

1st, Please say Altivec and other OSX ops...
2. Please say we can open more than 1 Live doc at a time!
3. AND that we can copy /paste ALL params from one doc to another!
4. Please say better multi-monitor use.
5, Please say we can open Sessions AND Arrange at the same time! (2nd window view.)
6. Please say better stretch fidelity by analyzing TRANSIENTs...
Like Acid, AppleLoops & Melodyne does!!!!
7. Most importantly, But thanks for what you did do!!!!!

Ableton ergonomics in the Midi Editor

I can see I'm not the only one psyched about Abletons take on the Midi editor. Can they give us the power we need with minimum clicks again?

Shift-Drag for velocity editing is cool!

I'd just like to ask if midi notes are colored according to velocity level? And is there midi note preview when changing velocity?

How about Shift-Ctrl-Drag for Midi-Channel editing? (With note preview!)

Having the midi-channel optionally displayed on each midi note at high zoom would be brilliant for multi-timbral instruments too!

I've never seen such a positive expectant forum. L4 will be mine!

8O I use live as a live looping recording and composition tool. I have my bass gtr and vocal running through live to their respective amps and the P.A. - I have programmed a foot controler to arm tracks and switch loops (etc). I have two questions:

1. Is there a way to use live like a loopstation or an echoplex? Where one can just continue recording on top of the audio without enabeling a new track?

2. Please let us know about this MAC OPTIMIZATION because I have the latest 12' powerbook with a fast hd and lots of ram and my computer starts to glitch after about 6 or 7 tracks. - Please hook us mac lovers up.

Very excited!!!!!

sometimes the midi-cc for some vsti are hard to find out. e.g. looking in the manual & try&error.

how will the midiassignment for vsti´s be controlled in live4 ?
with right-click on a parameter in the vsti ? or is there an easier way?

If you load, for example, the MiniMoog V, all its parameters appear as modulation destinations in the clip envelope window, sooo....maybe
