Hahaha!

I went to see him at Guildford Civic every year from about 1985 to 1990 and that was the exact set he used. Kept expecting to see Rrussel Bell up on one of the risers belting out the chords to "Are Friends Electric?"...

doesn't sound like he's using the autotune.
Ever tried to Autotune shouting?

Maybe DP should hire him instead - he could batter the living shit out of a Polymoog (and even play violin iirc) :)

I don't like the guy, or his music, but credit where it's due. There's enough peeps around already that appear to have been surgically fitted with TC Helicons. As for the fascination with Lemurs it isn't much different from guitarists peering at Page's latest Les Paul...ie: seriously boring. If however they get the stage where you can play a wireless version behind your head, or with your teeth, I might start paying attention...

6 pages of people talking about Amy Winehouse and not one of you mention her looks so she must have talent!

She has a real nice voice. It's unique sounding and she can belt out a tune. Yesterday's performance was the first time I heard her.

What was really disturbing is hearing some pop girl, Rihana, with fucking Friends hair thanking 'Tricky" for producing my record. I was immediately like, "wow, that's what he's been up to". This promopted me to google him and I found out it was another producer, who uses the name Tricky. That's just wrong man...

I know the real Tricky fell off the map with a couple bad records but Maxinquaye and Pre Millenium Tension are two of the most beautiful records I've ever heard. Those two albums pretty much were staples in my alcohol and drugged teens and early 20's. My god, the women driving around in thier VW's listening to "Christiansands", "Aftermath" or Massive Attcak's Protection circa 1999 blew me away.

I wish I had a time machine...

The last track I heard by Tricky that mattered was "For Real" from a pretty bad record called Juxtapose. That song was arguably one of the best things he ever did but the rest of that record was awful.

how about a shout out to Alicia Keys who displayed more grace, talent and CLASS than Kanye and Winehouse on their best days. what an incredible woman! I'd never buy one of her albums, but damn she was amazing.

btw the Grammies are and always have been (as far as I can remember) a joke.

Who dropped this amazing rhyme ?

I all night it, I everyday it
And when it comes to my dues, I over payed it
Rated hood bitch, Bitch I'm hood bitch
I aint a asshole, but I'm on some hood shit
I wish I would switch, I don't know how
Blood gang swarm like a red ant pile
Mean mug, like I can't smile
Like my grill, Coast me a 100 thou

no fuckin shit. i bet his breath stinks. what a wanker. people have been rapping about propane and propane accesories far too long. that shit was cool, like, in 1996... no respect for ugk and the others who pioneered this style, and actually said more than what they have...

next 2pac of beers my ass. unless he dies. but everyones entitled, right?!

and whorehouse does have an effortless to her sound. i just don't like her...

besides, tone is right, the grammy's suck. why are we still talking about it?=)

ive always wanted to like Alicia keys, but just cant. Her songs are so weak and forgettable, whereas some of Amy's sound like modern classics. I think she's probably a better songwriter than singer, and the opposite is true for Alicia.

She seems like such a poser sometimes too, every filmclip has to have her playing a piano, even when there is nothing resembling a keyboard in the song. her grammys performance was the same, the piano was a prop. isnt she supposed to be a virtuoso pianist?

damn, was her playing last night faked? I wasn't paying that much attention because I don't like her music. I just thought her presence was amazing, far beyond Kanye saying "oh, you're going to play music over ME?" of the hundreds of artists who have had music played over them like he's so fucking special, what a twat.

That's what the latest issue of Vibe called Lil Wayne (See, y'all didn't know who it was)

While, I too do not think Lil Wayne is capable of even the most basic humpty dumpty rhyme I do admire his zest for all things gangsta (and that's with a capital 'sta)

on another musical note

If I got along with Bounce I might be inclined to give Dead Prez a chance - they're performing somewhere round here in the next couple of weeks

here it is - Feb 14th @ The Evergreen State College
