"Moral of the story - Buy what you use. But let's not get all bent out of shape. @pbasonuk - this forum can be pretty good actually, people are very keen to help each other despite some shit talking, give it a chance."

I am starting to get some really useful advice from a lot of people now, I suppose i didnt make the best entrance to the forums so I'm taking it all with a pinch of salt now, and thanks for the back up Mr.

I always thought the Ableton forum was pretty gentle.

If you want to see vicious you should look at some of the java programming forums and look at the arguments that people will have over the the smallest detials...

My favourites was an exchange that end something like "... if you think that you should be programming in visual basic." :D

If will add a link if I can find it again.

Just had a look - you're right. Seriously, those guys need to learn to relax a bit. I know programming can be frustrating, but they go for the kill quicker than a Rottweiler crossed with a bag of fannies when they collectively "have the painters in".

But they are seriously lacking the laughter value of this place.

:D

i find the java 'community' isnt that bad. the ruby on rails crew are the worst ;)

i think this place is quite well balanced, there's pretty much every type of bastard.

Maybe a 'chain' email saying that if you don't read the manual some dead chinese kid will eat your eyes at midnight is all that is needed.

He fuckin' will you know...trust me, it happend to a friend of mine.

And if you rtfm, you'll get a nice surprise at 3:30 the day after you finish it.

It could be money. It could be love. It could be being able to use the software you just bought.

Considering I started gigging in my teens and I'm 52 now- yes, I have been in this business since before you were born.

And for 35, you sure have a mature outlook on life, as shown by comments like that, not to mention little gems like:
And for the whiney little keyboard warriors, give it a rest, I had a moan because i am having some teething problems with stuff that isnt working from what i read IN THE MANUAL. You pretty much sound like you all need to get laid or something, honestly, the tension is almost homo-erotic !

Some wanker tells me to read a manual ( I thought Ableton was supposed to be a community to help people) so thanks for that fella, you cock.
And as for me "getting over myself", I think the person who should get over themself is you, sir.

I thought we were all friends now. He's taken back what he said about the forum and appologised for getting a bit mardy.

Although as someone who hasn't had any for a while, I was a little offened by the getting laid comment. It's not the be all and end all. I'm doing just fine, thanks.

Any hot chicks around here? Just a cuddle?
