Nice post though. And you accuse the "euros" of being masters of deflection.

.lm.

I'm awaiting your return with baited breath. And where am I deflecting again? Haven't I answered all your accusations and ruthless attacks with honesty and integrity?

It only takes you 4 words to say what muffinBrow has been trying to say this whole thread. Pretty good, laddie.

muffinLips does do one thing well, and that's come up with new and original nicknames for me each time his Angry Neurons start firing.

Here's a sampling from this thread alone:

cumlppr1

lungfkkr1

landcrab

landcntr1

lol. Funny shit. I say funny now, but I'll deny it later, of course.

landcrab is still the best, though. FTW definitely.

Hey Abes, here's a fucking suggestion for the Suggestion Box. Make people take an IQ test before allowing them to contribute to this forum. Make sure there are questions that pertain to Irony as well.

While they are at it they should make the general forum accesible to registered users only. Zing. That would cut out a large percentage of the "OT" stuff... which I'll admit I partake in from time to time.

If they don't want to make it accesible to registered users than they should make you submit a track of something you created or they should make you explain what a VST is.

Something tells me a large population here would think it's an STD...

I'd settle for a spelling test. Language of your choice, of course. That would weed out 70% of the Rabble.

While I'm not agreeing (nor have I read) everything else he's said I will point out that
what Russia is doing to Georgia right now is nothing more than ethnic cleansing. This is no different than what Serbia did in the early 1990's. NATO responded with a large bombing that they threatened Serbia with for weeks.

What's going to happen this time around? NATO basically exists just to try and keep Russia in check after all. It could get real ugly.
Just responding to the actual topic here. No this isn't even close. Couple facts:
Russsia held georgia for almost 200 years previous to the breakup of the Soviet Union.
The territories in question, both of them in fact have declared independence from Georgia as long ago as 93, and have acted as autonomous states since then, allying themselves with Russia. Russia even issued passports to citizens there... Georgia decides to take military action against these semi autonomous states, and Russia reacts.
This is entirely different than Serbia, and ethnic serbians in Bosnia attempting to regain control over land lost after the collapse of Yugoslavia. Russia allowed Georgia autonomy, and was also responsive to the separatist movement in the semi autonomous areas.
Georgia basically got ballsy for some reason, and that's the part I don't get? Why the hell would you anger Russia?? Maybe China or the USA could have a go, but any other country, and you're signing your own death certificate. Especially considering how badly relations are between the two countries?
Anybody has any idea what the fuck Georgia was thinking let me know, because it sure confuses me? Just because we trained their soldiers doesn't mean we'll make Russia back off?

at last a decent post.

I agree, its not that similar to the balkan wars (slovenia, croatia, bosnia, kosovo et al), except perhaps in the tactics which seem to be inspired by the KLA (i.e. pinprick operations)

To me it seems like Saakashvili is relying on aligning himself with the US / NATO. He said
“It’s not about Georgia anymore. It’s about America, its values: we are a freedom-loving nation that is right now under attack.
I know Georgia is already regarded as a client state of America, this just really underlines that.

So, then of course there are the oil pipelines to consider, which is undoubtedly a major factor in this latest tragedy, but could it be that this is actually a distraction from something else, maybe a naval blockade of Iran?

The Russians are busy in Georgia, the Chinese are busy with the Olympics, what better time to ramp up actions against Iran?

Iran is not a threat. they almost have 1 nuke. at one time Russia had more than we did. article on that

contrast that to Russia
Armed with wealth from oil and gas; holding a near-monopoly over the energy supply to Europe; with a million soldiers, thousands of nuclear warheads and the world's third-largest military budget, Vladimir Putin believes that now is the time to make his move.

the candidates stances, Bill Richardson is a tool, NATO, and celebrating August as International Let's Start A War Day, fuck yeah.
