finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta 'soon'...
Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
I definitely agree with the competition aspect. can only be good.
Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
The mixer faders see a bit small dont they?
Other than that it seems interesting enough. I like the competition.
Now we have two programs to grumble about!

Yup, competition is good, it's just no competition for me. I already own Ableton Live and I'm happy with it. I don't need multiple DAWs.. but if I was going to get another, I certainly wouldn't go for something so strikingly similar.

Well look at it this way: Ableton and Bitwig compete for similar customers, if one application is offering users a magical unicorn beatmatcher, then the other developer needs to counter that.c33 wrote:Yup, competition is good, it's just no competition for me. They compete for new users, but established users also benefit because we also get the magical unicorn beatmatcher.
That's why we have Teflon frying pans ... Because Russia had a space program.

Linear Phase has left the building..
Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
nothing which is new is totally new. It is ALWAYS (with no exception) something which was inspired by different things.
How dare Ableton to build in a linear Arrangement in their programm. They have clearly taken it from Cubase.
Pro Tools is also a rip-off from cubase..or Atari or whatever.
How dare you to make drums with a snare drum. It has been there before a 1000 times. So you must be a total copycat...
do you get how ridiculous this is??
Mercedes should not make cars with round tires because BMW has done it before....or vice versa, it just does not matter.
i mean, how old are you guys? 5 years old?
Bitwig to me looks amazing really. They have thought about everything which was missed out in Live and even managed to make it look much cooler. So what??
If Bitwig allows VSTs in Rewire-Mode I'm off from this children-place without PDC and a childish users-base who don'T understand anything at all!
*rant*

That's the one. I wonder what the "flexible screensets" really means. The picture 3dot posted doesn't really answer that. So hopefully we'll see that in the future movies. Or better yet, I'll be one of the beta testersSibanger wrote:Multi-monitor support
Bitwig Studio offers flexible screensets to take full advantage of your monitor configuration.

Oh I agree. If I didn't already own Live, I'd be willing to give both programs a trial run.Angstrom wrote:Well look at it this way: Ableton and Bitwig compete for similar customers, if one application is offering users a magical unicorn beatmatcher, then the other developer needs to counter that.c33 wrote:Yup, competition is good, it's just no competition for me. But I've only had Live a year, I still have loads to learn and lots of music to make, and I feel confident that I chose the best software for me.
Time will tell how great and competitive Bitwig is. Ableton's foundation is rock solid (and they helped to build it so they know what they're up against).

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...
anyone has a idea what bitwig studio will cost?
maybe it will be cheaper than a update from Live 8 to 9.
what do you think?

Well so far it seems a little cheaper of a product, so I would hope so.Christian Witt wrote:maybe it will be cheaper than a update from Live 8 to 9.
