I like the Bitwig Reverb as an FX/Sound Design device... you can drop other devices either on just the wet signal, or within the reverb itself so it lends itself to some cool effects.

Bitwig also has a nice Resonator device... the Resonator inside the Reverb is fun (be careful of runaway feedback) and use an LFO to modulate the resonator frequency bands. You can also put the Reverb into the Delay device Feedback path along with a frequency shifter... and so on...

In this way I think the Bitwig reverb is useful and can do stuff you could not do with a VST reverb.

that actually sounds pretty cool. i guess having a limiter at the end of the chain while experimenting could be wise...

what about Bitwig's native as a straight reverb - sans gimmicks?

Don't understand all the fuss about Live lacking this n that. I tried all the other DAWs and they drove me mad. People say you can't master on Live but I had a go and it worked fine.

No fuss, just DAW envy. As long as there is an Interwebs these debates will rage on about these sorts of things.

Someone mentioned earlier that it's comparable to sports team loyalty I however believe it's more of a religious belief... may the DAW gods look favorably on their fervent believers and forgive the Bitwig evangelists... and let Live see the light.

I stick by the sports team model. If a person moves to a different region, they rarely change religions, but they often change or also adopt the local sports teams. I got frustrated with Logic when Apple bought them as I didn't think Apple was a good 'coach' for a DAW. A lot of people had the opposite reaction, Apple is de facto perfect, therefore Logic will be too.
Either one is a pretty good analysis of the brand loyalty thing that gets took to an extreme in music, mechanics etc. Gibson VS Fender, Ford VS Chevy etc.

I'm pretty strait forward about it, if Ableton continue to make a better integrated DAW, I will continue to update, if Bitwig, innovate and move in a direction I want to go in I will consider switching. Mostly though it works for me the way it is, so Bitwig would have to pull off something pretty spectacular. Also, quite honestly I'm going to pay a lot of attention to their upgrade pricing when Bitwig 2.0 comes out, because with all the dependancies that Live Suite has, the upgrade is ridiculously overpriced. Probably the only comparable upgrade would be Nuendo.

Sports team mentality I guess... Although before Bitwig was released to the faithful adopters it was if it was the coming of a new era in DAW functionality in which all DAW's would take heed and implement what was "New" and "Innovative" in order to keep up with the "Messiah" Daw, at least that was the way it was on most of the forums that I frequent.

Than came the release...

Granted there is some stuff in Bitwig that would improve how other DAW's work and when it all gets sorted out hopefully we will see that as a reality, as in an update to Live.
