Yeah, but Amazon needs to inspire its employees to continue to run the company at a loss. Without perks and distractions an employee might inadvertently focus and cause the company to turn a profit which according to Wall St. is no way to run a company.

Pretty much every tech company EXCEPT Apple.

The interesting thing is that you're really seeing a major push in the States, and not just by the tech giants, to create really cool office spaces. Places that are much warmer, better equipped, and generally more fun than ever before. This is done for a. attraction and retention and b. to evoke a 'home like' atmosphere.

These are all good things.

At the same time residential developers are trying to convince people that it doesn’t get much better than paying top dollar to live in a modular apartment the size of a refrigerator. Just another reason to stay at work longer.
